You have got to be kidding me.

In my FD, about to make my turn onto the interstate this evening after catching a movie, and some redneck in a 2 door civic with all the typical rice additions to uglify his car, literally dives infront of me and gets on the on-ramp in front of me, close enough my heart started pumping thinking I was going to get clipped. So, naturally, I'm pissed but wtf am I going to do about it at 75mph, so I think nothing more of it and watch him blast down the interstate like an *******.

45 minutes later, I roll back into my home town to call it a night and right after I get off the interstate, here is the same car, parked like he is waiting for me even though he had been out of sight for probably 40 minutes. So I go by and the he pulls out. I'm not big on racing on public streets and especially against a car that isn't worth wrecking/dying/getting a ticket over so my intentions were to keep on my way with my wife and go home. Well, we catch a red light and he pulls right up in front next to me and starts reving his motor, screaming out the window "you ain't got ****, lets go".

Light turns green, and all 4 cylinders of that car were screaming like mad, even though the car wasn't moving much. So I keep my foot just barely into it just to stay next to him and it was obvious that I wasn't even trying, but I just wanted to see how little it would take to keep par with him. I shift from 1st at about 4k rpms and I had to basically feather the gas just so I didn't pass him Well, I'm at the speed limit for this road (50mph), so I'm done and he goes "screaming" by. Well, about 7-8 blocks later, he jumps into the turn lane at a red light. I pull up next to him waiting for the light to change and he yells "told you that car wasn't ****" and flips a u-turn and takes off!!!

So I guess this isn't really a kill other than I had to share how my FD suposedly was slaughtered by a 4 cyl. civic

Not me, all I get are fly bys, people revving their motors at me in the opposite lanes as they go by, but no one will pull up next to me, they either hang back, or get infront of me....I guess that's respect, not that I care

The old people love it though. They point and stare everytime I go by the Sizzler in town No, I'm dead serious!! I'm going to pull in one of these times and talk cars with the old fellers.....I'll have to read up on Deville's and New Yorker's though

Even keeping up w/ the guy like that would have gotten you a drag race ticket. The cops dont know who's got what but would have heard his engine and saw the two of you side by side. Be careful. People like that scare me. W/ all the car jackings going on you dont know whats going on. Hands off to Florida lawmakers for the concealed weapons permit!

I never thought about that actually!!!

Oregon has a concealed weapons permit. I always have my .45 with me when I travel, wether it's a mile down the road, or across the state.

Lol thats funny.Usually on the highway I'll just keep it in 5th gear and go from there. They get all excited that the "kept up" or "beat" an RX-7. Then I say "Yea, pretty cool man!" Then downshift and go WOT, lol..I'd love to know what they think then.

actually, he let off when he hit the speed limit. So it wasn't a race, it was just regular acceleration. Just because the Honda was racing doesn't mean that he was, he was simply taking note of the Honda.

I'm not going to mention this any further for fear that you blame your wife for your always getting picked on and probably slap her around.

Maybe it's my ego, but I can't let them get away thinking that they are faster. Either I will pace them as they are "racing" and then floor it for a second before letting off, or I will outright destroy them to the speed limit. What they choose to do after that doesn't bother me as long as I'm sure they know they're not as hot as they thought.

Mind you I'm only like that with the rediculously stupid cars. If it's something that I think would take a bit more effort then I won't run because it probably means too excessive of speeds. Props to you for having more self control than I do, and for having a higher tolerance for stupidity.

To each his own, by running down a civic to blow it's doors off to me would be like Micheal Jordan dunking over a 5 year old's head just to prove he's the real bad *** on the court.

The Michael Jordan analogy is hilariously true, but Henessey hit the nail on the head.

Sounds like a similiar story I had with a guy running a 2.3litre turbo 4cyl ford Mustang awhile back, while I was coming back form an alignment shop with my SR20 powered S13 coupe. I proceeded to walk away from him through each gear. FD and C5 I haven't had anybody try me yet. Maybe the two scare the ricers too much.
