Went from a light coming from school on the highway. Wound her all the way up then dumped the clutch and took off. He was about half a car behind me all the way until I hit 7.5k in 2nd. Went to good ol' 3rd and then he started reeling me in. He got to about my pass. door, and then we got up to a car which made him break and have to move behind me. I let off, let him to around me and gave him a thumbs up.

Let me get this straight, you beat an awd wrx (which i'm assuming is turbo not the 2.5rs wannabe by the fact that it was catching up to you) off the line??? Not only that but with a n/a with just those mods...he must not know how to drive or was babying his tranny cause thats their game! And against n/a not even on a roll...

 

I don't know what to tell you homeslice. He did start reeling me in though, if we would of kept going he would of had me at about 100 mph. Obviously he was racing me though. I raced a new Golf VR6, from the same exact place the wrx and I went, and the VR6 didn't even reel me in. Didn't lose anyground either, but just stayed right on my butt.

Be glad you seem to have a pretty quick n/a FC...i remember back in the mid 90s i ran half a car behind a T2 with a catback so i guess it can happen.
Dont get in too deep though, awds will tear you a new one off the line and without boost youre not gonna reel anyone in!

lol well thanks. I know I am no match for the WRX in higher gears. I had a wagon take me in higher gears (in 4th.) Didn't BLOW ME away, but it pulled right on by once I hit 4th gear.

 

being a wrx driver i can tell you that unless he went ***** out on the launch, the taklke off on a wrx is shitty.

 

maybe the wrx wasnt expecting to race? Then he realized it was on

 

oh he knew. Because we were coming up on the light, and like 100 feet away it turns yellow and I slam on my breaks hoping he would too so we could go from a dig.

 

when my s4 was running my wife murded me ona quick highway pull in our WRX on the way home after buying the 7. although, i didnt give my best effort, as i was unfamiliar with the new car i bought and didnt want to tow it home. she floored it and took off. i didn't downshift any, but it wouldn't have done much good. no mods, though.

sounds like the person in the wrx dumped it too high or had an automatic. kill is a kill-good job!

a regular WRX is a complete pig from a roll. He could have outlaunched you easily if he really wanted to, but those things have a rep for busting trannys.

Don't hate on the N/A s4... I pulled half a carlength on an '05 Mustang GT vert on the highway a while back, best kill yet... Of course I've got a street port and a tuned SAFC

 

I was on a on-ramp with two lanes that merged into one, and this GT came up on the side trying to get past me and my buddy before the merge. Well I will tell you he accomplished his goal, but I will also tell you me and my buddy were both in the car with the cold air blowing on us. And the GT barely inched by us.
