wow. z28 vs 87" TII
wow my tII got a hurting tonight, i was asked to race by this dude in a 95ish style Camaro Z28 with an exhaust and i dont know what other mods, but afterwards he told me he ran a 13.62, yea we went from about a 20 mph roll i started off in 1st, and he gunned it and immediatley took the lead and thats the way the race went the whole entire, i was in awe i thought my car would stand a better chance just goes to show the 7 can lose, but on the good side my friends from behind told me i shot some grade A fireballs. I'm not sure if this is where my TII should be at or not i got it with the current mods so maybe it needs to be tuned im not sure its a 1987, HKS intake, FCD, Racing beat Turboback, Walbro pump. Give me insight. im sad. but even if he ran a 13.6 does that justify the beating i received?

it looks like your mods would put you in the mid to low 14s...maybe even high 14s, because you don't even have a BC. Camaros also pull hard up top.

I can agree with you Jager about thefact that not all V8 are slow they can make tremendeous power with just a few bolt on parts. Im not saying that RX7 are slow is just some people need to get theyr head out off theyr a@$ and realyze that we do have fast cars and they are good on beeting on hondas and crap like that even tho evento them are managing to run into the 12 with some motor work. So basicly the moralle of this is unless you know you paking some serious horse power dont even bother becouse the RX7 was designed for track racing more than drag racing and thats all theres to say about that.
And I do apologize in advance if this has insulted anybody.

Moral of this story is... any make of car, any day, can hand you a tear-laiden pink slip. Have owned many high end cars (mainly Mustangs - 01 Saleen S281; my last was an 04 Cobra; also owned an M3 for a couple years) and they have all fallen to Hondas, Acuras, Mazdas... ummm, VWs, Toyotas, many Chevys, just as many Fords... and saved the worst for last - a Dodge Neon SRT-4. I sold the Cobra after an 1/8 mile loss to an SRT-4 (not stock obviously). It taught me a very important lesson. Put your money where it counts, under the hood and on the ground. And if you think you have a fast car (notice I didn't say a "notoriously" fast car) take it to the track and see how fast it really is. Chances are there's somebody faster than you everytime : ) Even if it is a Honda, or in this case a heavy Chevy. Oh my. Another lesson I learned was bang for buck. If you're wanting bang for buck... you're in the right place with something like an RX7. On the other hand, if you want to blow all your money (read: $36k) on a factory Cobra and have your *** handed to you by a nowhere near stock Honda Civic... you can do that too. Happy motoring folks... and be safe.
