To the original poster: I totally DON'T see your point... I can see ONE thread about a "695whp Supra"... I would say that 90% of the stories are 'based on a true story' in this forum. Also, I've probably seen about 7 threads EVER that mentioned someone racing and hitting NAWWWS.

You've been around for less than a year. Hardly enough time to get a good gauge on the state of the kills section IMO. Your bitching is baseless.

It really comes down to this: There are two or three groups posting here usually. There are the guys that can "walk the walk" that have invested tons of time and money into making a truly spectacular car, one that can take on and dominate most other cars. These folk are rightfully proud of what they have done and like to brag a little about it, which is only natural. After all, why NOT? These guys are pretty well known and don't post bullshit.

The second group is largely comprised of guys with basically stock or lightly modded cars that relate stories where they pitted their cars against similar cars, often with close results. To me this is the group that is most enjoyable to read about, because let's face it...most of us are IN this group, and everytime we line up against some 'Vette or Camaro or M3 etc, we really don't know what the result is going to be, which is a helluva lot of fun! I can't imagine having a ~400 hp FD that just stomps everything without any drama, which while fun would have to get boring after a while when there really isn't any competition.

The last group ARE the bullshitters, the ones that make such outrageous claims that it is quite comical to read. However, usually these guys get flamed SO BAD that they leave never to return under that username....lol! And there really aren't too many like this at all that I have seen in the 6 years I have been on the Forum.

My advice: Just enjoy the show.

I dont know this guy, but it is possible he has, infact, been around; cars, RX7's, racing,..life, before he joined this site. Life does happen outside the Internet

Now to answer the original Question...
If you race, you get off on winning.. not losing.
It is exciting and addicting.
Stock RX7's are not set up to drag, not even an FD (13.9 in 1/4)
Without mods you would never see a C5 kill
You want every advantage/mod you can afford to beat the next guy who thinks
he is in a faster car.

Jager has been around cars and stuff. I felt lucky to hang with him during the summer. He could always answer some questions I kept coming up with. All in all this teaches us the number one thing. It doesn't matter how much money you have or how many mods you put on your car, as long as you know you can do it yourself and you don't have to pay someone to install a spark plug for ya. It feels so much better to get the job done on your own then waste even more money paying someone else.

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in. Even if ppl do pay to get stuff done to their car. I wish you the best of luck in building your machine.
