Well, here is yet another lucky kill on my part. The other night I was going to my girl's house (yes I finally have a GF... ) and I'm on 190 doing 75ish. I see what, at first, appears to be a faded gray FC coming up on the left, so I slow down. When I do, it speeds up and I realize that its a C4 Corvette that has seen better days. I'd age it at about an '88 or so. It had faded paint and was really loud. Not only that, but it was smoking real bad out of the right tail pipe, which either indicated a blown head gasket, or null cylinder rings. Anyway, we come up to a stop light. He looks over at me and revs it once (RRRAAATTTLE). I look over and he says "Hey man you wanna run 'em?" I'm thinking I might get annhialated even though its a ragged out POS, but I decide I might just do it just in case. So I say yes. While the light is still red, I switch the AAS to "Normal" to aid in launching. I hold my revs at about 3-3.5k while he just sits there revving it up to what seems like 8k. The light goes green and I launch B-E-AUTIFULLY, and I hear him drop the clutch and lurch forward a little bit while the engine revved freely. Is he not in gear? Well I top my 1st and hit 2nd and just start to walk away from the guy. I look in my mirror and I see smoke pouring out of the right side, so I know he's on it. I hit 3rd and decide to let him catch back up, so I slow down to 55 and wait for him to come up beside me. He does, and he floors it. Same again- engine revs high, car lurches forward and slightly accelerates. Ah. His clutch sucks ***!!! So I just shake my head, hit 2nd, and walk away from him. Well, about 5 miles up the road, I turn into a gas station to get a drink, and he pulls into a spot beside me, slamming the bottom of his bumper into the side walk, and jumping out of his car. At this point I'm like "Oh hell, I've pissed him off and he's gonna kick my ***!" and I'm a small guy (5'7", 125lbs). He gets up to me and screams "THAT WASN'T FAIR! THATS BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT! AIN'T NO LITTLE PUNK GONNA CHEAT AND BEAT ME! MY CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING YOU ****!" So I, at this point, am feeling a combonation of fear, surprise, disgust, humor, anger, and a dash of intellect. I say "...Wait. You knew your clutch was messed up... and you raced WILLINGLY?" He just nodded his head and looked down at his feet. He then said "**** you." and got back into his car and left. Well now.

 

WTF? What a dumbass, haha. I've never heard of somebody actually acting like that after they lost. That is too funny.

I raced an Integra in my "old" TII (tired, 140k), I walked it in 4th gear (it was even 'til then).

I turned off and he followed me into Jack in the Box. He parked right behind me and two guys got out their car and walked up to my window. I was thinking "great, these guys are trying to fight me for beating them".

The guy was like, "damn G! that car's fast, dogggg"!!!

I was like, "ohh.. Yeah, your car's pretty quick too... What have you got done"?

"stock gs"

nice kill, i read a corvette article where gm tried to make a 2.3(somehting like that) liter rotary engine for a corvette, but obviously it didnt go through

 

Heh, I one time raced a S-10 4-door (like 97ish or later or something) in my old Jeep (K&N, headers, full exhaust, lighter rims + street tires) and beat him. He got behind me and kept doing brakestands. I gave him the finger for just about rear ending me and he got out of the car. My friend and I got out right before he did.

He ran back in and we giggled. Twas was pwnage.

i, at first, found the story somewhat believable until we got the the 8k rev. Needless to say it all went downhill from there and if this story just so happens to be true, why would you even post a horrible "kill" (i guess thats what you guys call them) like this. The funniest part about this story is these people actually believe this. To finish this off, you actually slowed down to let him catch you?...plz. If his car actually ran or if he even know how to drive an m6 the last thing you would have been worrying about is slowing down. Im done here, ive wasted enough time typing this; good day.

 

How do you expect people to actually believe what you are writing? I highly doubt a c4 owner would follow you, get out of his car, and start yelling at you for beating him. You made me laugh though:

Now, that was quality. Either the corvette owner was 15 years old, or you're IQ is negative for making up such a good story.

i don't see why it's so hard to believe that a ratted out 80's c4 vette that probably barely made 200hp new, depending on year, could be owned by some young idiot. have you f body trolls actually looked into the price on those things? they are pretty cheap.

let's be honest, the 80's were not really the pinnacle of vette performance, and add 15-20 years of neglect...

Gee, when you come to troll our boards, you might want to pull your head out of your *** first. Corvettes didn't get the LT-1 until 1992. Before then they had the Crossfire or L98 V-8 making 205-245 horsepower, depending on year. Now add 15-20 years of aging, a slipping clutch, and the results are pretty believable.

You think someone stopping to get out their car is unbelievable? It's called road rage and it happens every single day.

Oh, and for the two guys who obviously troll the Chevy vs... kills in the Kills Section, believe what you want, but thats what happened. I could care less what the car SHOULD do or WOULD do if running properly, but this thing was a complete pile of useless sight and sound. Another thing, when I said "... revved to what SOUNDED like 8k" I said that it SOUNDED like 8k, not that I was in the passenger seat looking at the tach hit 8k. Hell, I'm not even sure if those vettes even had 8k displayed. Oh, and one more thing, I don't care what kind of car it is, be it C4 Vette, or Koiengsegg, even if you have the power advantage, it does you no good if its not getting to the wheels. Just a thought, but next time, set your biases aside and give someone the benefit of the doubt. Yes my car is slow and yes a C4 in tip-top shape would probably eat me alive, but this one was a rag that apparently had no clutch left. I beat it because my car was in better operating condition (by at least 10fold, BTW) and he just couldn't accept it. I wonder if it was one of you guys? Oh, that reminds me, not all vette owners are the layed back middle aged guys that don't race. Hell, every car type on the road has at least one dousche bag driver. Does my rare, and unfortunate, encounter automatically mean that I am lying? If that were the case, then there are alot of BS stories running around (not only kills, but sightings, experiences, etc.). Just because 99.9% of Vette drivers are actually laid back and cool, doesn't negate the fact that people are people, and alot of people are rude and disrespectful. Also, this guy wasn't a young guy, I'd put him at about 30ish, but he was obviously A.) crazy, or B.) on crank because he was pissed as hell and realized he fucked up when I called him on it. Rant concluded. I'll be eating fried chicken
