I know its stupid to street race and all but I was just chillin down palmetto expressway and this challenger comes out of no where honking behind and next to me to race. My FD is stock and I have one of the rear tires almost gone but just wanted to see how bad my car would go against it since its stock and the challenger looked pretty suited up with the engine noise.

Well to my surprise I was going around 60-70 when he got to my side, I pressed the pedal a little to let him know to go first. he starts and I then follow, 70-100 in like 5 seconds and I quickly pass him, 100 - 130mph, I see him clearly in my rear view mirror about 5 cars behind. Didnt see him able to catch up and I said he must not be pressing it all, some cars get in the way so I slow down and tell him to pass me, he does, I flick him, he goes, I chase, same thing, pass him, get in front, didnt even bother turning the e-lights.

Just doesn't make sense, you can ask moose my engine is stock and the only upgrade I have is a Greddy exhaust. Thought a challenger was a super fast car and that it would eat me easily. Guess either the driver was a bad one or the FD is faster than I expected. Wished I could have cam'd it but was already reckless racing in the construction area of palmetto.

 

stock challenger v6 is a turd, the r/t is pretty much dead even with an FD, maybe a bit slower, the srt-8 is a bit faster, mid-low 13s, and the car you posted is a 600 whp boosted challenger and would absolutely CRUSH you even with a shitty driver. So yes, you COULD beat an srt-8 with a shitty driver if you're halfway competant. If you beat someone in a REAL hennessey, they were just toying with you.

 

yea im pretty sure that one wasnt 600hp lol, just did quick Google search and posted the closest one from the challenger I saw tonight. On the first we did a good straight line and he didnt catch up, on the second when I slowed down because we reached curves + construction zone so I let him pass then, I chased him for a bit, soon as I got a clear left I go and passed him even faster than before. May be he took a dump cuz of the curves when I reached 130... idk just found it weird cuz someone who normally wants to race in Miami is because they pack a punch.

Raced a SRT8 Challenger a couple weeks ago from a stoplight. I got a crappy launch & he got a car length on me from the beginning..... I passed him about 90mph... 3-4 car lengths by 120mp.

He really surprised me. Car was pretty quick. He was a cool guy. We were chatting at the light. It was also an automatic, which is suppose to be quicker in the 1/4.

He won't stand a chance in a few months ..... Come get it with the 35R setup

 

the older srt-8s only came as an auto, only in 09 did they finally put manuals in them, dunno if the autos are faster or not, but on the challenger I would be willing to bet the manual is faster.
