Two more kills for the FC- RX-8 and '83 Monte Carlo.

1st Kill:
I was driving around the other night and I spot a blue RX-8 coming up from the left rear. He gets beside me and I glance over and see a young punk driving with a full load of passengers and some gay *** new mainstream R&B song blasting. They are all kind of looking at me with this "Yeah, whatever. Your car sucks" look. Now, to set the scene, I'm just cruising along and my FC is DIRTY! I mean DDUUUURRRRRTTTTY! It was the worst its been in a while, so of course it looks pathetic. I hear him downshift it (uh oh, its a 6spd!) and blip the throttle. Hes got this confident little smirk on his face and his passengers are carrying on about how I was about to get smoked. At this point, we're together doing 45mph, and I know that my car's sweet spot is in 2nd gear at this speed. So I rev to 5k and match rpms to slide into 2nd. Just as I let off of the clutch I hear him floor, so I do the same, and to my surprise I immediately pulled a half car ahead. I hit third and opened the gap even farther! Wow! I shut her down and he pulls up with his "music" (if you want to call it that) turned down and he says, I quote "That wasn't a fair race because I have passengers." To which I responded "Then why did you race if the odds were against you? You lost either way. And show some respect to the 7." He just got all pissy and rode my bumper for about a half mile before turning right onto a backroad.

2nd Kill:
Yesterday after school I was sitting in the parking lot with my car idling waiting for it to warm up and for the insane adolescant deathmissle drivers to get away when I see a nice *** black '83 Monte Carlo driving around the parking lot, revving, doing "burnouts", etc. Well, most of the mayhem clears out, and my car was up to temp, so I proceed to idle out of the parking lot when who do I see slide around a corner and ride my bumper? Thats right, the kid in the Monte Carlo. I get to where the road in front of the parking lot turns onto a main 2 lane road and put on my right blinker, waiting for a nice opening, when the kid starts doing a power brake right behind me. Well, my opening comes and I rev it up to about 4k and drop the clutch, laying rubber for a good 500ft before adding another 4ft in 2nd. He ran the stop sign and proceeded to attempt catching up to me. I turned left up ahead onto a road thats about 1/8 mile long before it becomes a four lane at a stop light. The light is red, the road is clear, and I'm rolling slightly ahead and alongside of this obviously confused fellow in a V8 boat. I'm still rolling at about a 5mph pace, him at about 10-15mph coming up closer to my right side, when the light turns green. I "launch" perfectly with a chirp of the tires as he mashes the throttle. I immediately blast ahead and put a good carlength or two on him before squirting into 2nd. By about the top of 2nd, he's WAY back. I shut down and merge to the right lane and he pulls up to my left and gives me a thumbs up and a nod.

So now I have 2 RX-8's under my belt, one auto and one 6spd. What really confused me was that I got props from the Monte Carlo and not from a fellow rotary driver. Oh well.

nice kills man

Sorry to hear the negative experience with the RX8, he deserved the whooping he got. I hope the punk attitude doesn't get associated with the 8, though. I consider them part of our rotary family. That story reminds me of a yellow Monte SS I raced today with my friend's AT that has either a fried coil or a blown apex seal. Haha, what a joke.

Then I get to school and I got a whole gang of "the insane adolescant missle drivers" following me through the parking lot downshifting their pathetic Honduhs into 1st gear at 30 mph just to make noise. One of them stops in front of me a revs his turdmobile and drops the clutch and leaves a 2 inch mark with his front tires. Then he gets out of his car talking about some yoyo Si crap. Funny, just days before when all these yoyo si's were outside smoking their cigarettes all khool dawg I laid down pounds of rubber from one end of the ricer convention to the other end of the parking lot. Not to compete with bozos but every once in a while you gotta check your hoz. LOL

Check the hoz, I love it. Its shitty how certain cars get associated with ********. My friend bought a FD and since then, hes been a raging *****, kinda sad that happens .

Good kills and good stories, always interesting to read 1Revvin .

Update: I talked to the dude in the Monte today and he acctually turned out to be a cool, knowledgeable person. His car has a Vortech block 350 bored 0.040" over, Edelbrock T-Stat housing, Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock Carb (didn't ask what CFM), bigger fuel pump, and exhuast. Its friggin IMMACULATE too. Exterior is perfect, interior is amazingly clean, and the paint is a nice, glossy black without any swirlmarks. And I was wrong on the year, its an '82 not an '83 (but I was close). Thanks for the positive responses.

Another Update on a slightly different topic:
Theres a kid that heard about me beating the Monte and he has issued a race ultumatum against his Firebird. But get this, its a V6 with a couple of rice cannons and he's trying to convince people that its a Trans Am. My god. So should I do it?

There are dicks driving 8's, as much as driving 7's and other misc. cars....keep that in mind. BTW, never owned a 7 myself.

well you are obviously atleast familiar with the fact that rx-7's exist, while 90% of the 8 owners dont seem to be, and if they are its usually only the fd's.

Okay, so I may have exaggerated by a couple hundred feet (I checked out the marks and its more like 250or so ft.) Thats what happens with shitty 205's and a slick road.

Oh, "mods" to my FC:
2.5" Header, E-Fan, cone filter, removed A/C, HKS Hi-Power eBay knockoff mufflers, slightly lightened (none of that crap in the back). Its nothing much, but thats all I can afford right now. Within the month, I should have a test pipe made for about $70. Hopefully I'll get some flamage!!! On a side note, hopefully I won't melf my bumper.

The Firebird is a '96, I believe. Not sure on the motor, but it looks hella slow and doesn't sound like the 3.8 motor, so I'm gonna say its the 2.8 or 3.4.

if its a 96 and a V6 it would have the 3.8 V6, GM introduced the 3.8 V6 to the F body line in 95.

Some of those V6 have 200+ hp. There was one I raced in my base '01 MX-5 (high 15 sec car) and we were to to toe 0-120 mph. Good luck, kill him.

I'm not stupid enough to race a 7. I agree they are idots that drive 8's and probally think since the tach redline starts @ 9k they're hot stuff. I'm friendly to my roots... FDs are nice but prefer the FC. Spank all the ID10T 8 drive you want!!

i own an 8 too, always wanted get a 7 but got an 8 for the durability issue...
i don't even try to race the 7 even thou they're stock looking, as much as i like my 8, i respect 7 owners as well
but once i get a hold of Greddy turbo and put some mod and tune for around 260 whp,
then i'll give 7 drivers respectable race ,, whether i win or lose
7 can't lose!!!
i wish someday people will start saying the 8 can't lose!!

obviously the rx-8 owners on THIS forum are cool. they are familiar with the existence of an rx-7. i would bet that most people on the rx8club dont know what sa, fb, fc, or fd means. theres probably some complete douche who doesnt know that rx-7's exist at all. with that said though, most people here have limited knowledge of rx-2's, 3's, and 4's. (myself included)

actually, alot of people on 8 forum are very well educated and well aware of the existence of 7. in fact many of them have owned or currently own some type of 7 (fb, fc, fd). its just those ego full teenagers out there who have rich parents and jerk friends act like they are the king of the road.. blast them..

Agreed. As a current 8 owner, miata owner, and a former 7 owner (87 GXL), I acknowledge every 7 that drives by. Some give a wave, but some just ignore me-oh well... Good kill. Don't let those punk kids skew your view of the real enthusiast!

Quick Reply: Two more kills for the FC- RX-8 and '83 Monte Carlo.
