TII vs. SRT-4

We just got done picking his srt-4 up from the dealership, and were heading back to his house. I was riding in my friends elcipse. My appt was in the direction we were going so i decided to pick up my car so i could have a ride back, and show it off to some guys he works with while i was there.

So we stop by my appt, i get my car and head back onto the highway.

1st run:

Start out at about 70 in 3rd gear(about 4500) Gave a countdown a punched it. Basically stayed even, until about teh top of third, where i slowly starped to pull. Shifted to 4th and started to pull a lil bit more. By the end of fourth his front bumper was at the back of my door. We shut down from there and lined up again.

2nd run:

This run was basically the same, but this time i gave a better countdown, and ended up a lil more ahead.

SRT-4 MODS-electric cutout on the exhaust, boost set at 20 psi, but he said it was spiking to 21 and bleeding off to 10 or so. Wideband, boost guage, greddy bov, and im sure some other small things, nothing crazy.

As for me mods in sig and i was maybe hitting 10 psi in 4th gear. 8 psi is normal.

I've been a bit worried on running against the Srt's around here.

Most seem to be modded pretty well. There's also AZsrt.com or something like that here.

I should go to the track to see what they run in real life.

Man I need to go BNR upgrade and Haltech. Then I don't have to worry about silly things :P hehehe

they need to be modded. Stock they aren't much, modded they are significantly more potent. Walked a stock one like he was a Mazda MP3. good kill

I know a couple people with them and they all get made fun of even the one that runs 12.5s LOL

Yeah, and the Evo is just a Lancer and a STi is just a Imprezza.

Corvettes still have leafsprings!

TII vs. SRT-4 08-10-05 02:41 AM stfu ignoramus

Im ignorant for stating a fact?

Oh heavens I pissed someone off over a damn skittle! It is what it is, and thats all that it is. Same for any other sports car based off of a 4 door, compact car, strut suspension chassis with a turbo and some suspension modifications. OOPS?

At least MOPAR bothered to not only put a torsen differential on it, but they give factory supported and warrantied upgrade paths for the handling and power.

Thanks guys. The sort of person who fills the void between the few reasonable, smart people on this forum is terribly amusing. Psst... it puts down about the same WHP, if not more, as a FD does. Its just heavier and front drive. Pass it along!

The SRT-4 will be my next car when im done with my FC, ive been on srtforums since before i even had a 7. There easy to mod cheap, and a modern day muscle car. I cant wait till i find one to run i know theres 4 or them were i live but i think two went off to colledge. I just saw a brand new White ACR SRT-4 with BBS, it was pretty hot. Respect a car for what it can do not what it is.

lol, whatcha doing with your FC? Im looking for a nice 5lug w/ the good brakes to give it the LS1/T-56 treatment

I wonder if some evil bastard has put the SRT-4 engine in a RX-7 yet... would definitely be fun to see!

LOL... late to time chime in..

Yes I ran a 13.3 at 106mpg.. Ben and I ran and he walked me... I was quite impressed. I've played with SRT-4s since 2003... one of the first in TX with one.. (I think #3 or so)... My car had the electric cutout / stage 1 pcm / mbc ..... normally spike 21 psi and hold 16ish.... when I ran the 13.3 I spiked 20-21 and fell to 14... when I ran the rx7 I was spiking 20 and falling to 10ish.. Major boost leak.. but like I said above.. his post doesn't tell the race.. at take off... we were even then around 90ish he began to walk... it was ugly.

I have the t3/t4 50 trim big turbo kit on my floor.. and I could install it.. but I am selling my car. I bought my 05 dakota to go wheelin in ... and well when I sell the SRT I am wanting to buy a 2nd gen rx7...

Anyways - I'm done rambling.
