TII vs RX-8

im dont usually street race, but the other night i lined up with an Rx-8. we did a few 40-60 mph runs. I just had it in 3rd, rpms at ~4k so wasnt really in the powerband, but we were dead even for all runs. the guys said his clutch was slipping but he was cool about it. I just wished i raced him in 2nd gear and showed him some FC tails

40-60mph? Wouldn't really call that a race, but anyhoo..good times nonetheless I'm sure.

I agree. I wouldn't consider that a race... 40-60 just makes the RX-8 driver think the car was worth the over-priced amount he/she paid for it. They really aren't that quick. The dealer's comment the first time they asked me to drive one cuz I had my 7 there picking up some parts was that it really comes into it's own about 120mph, so you don't feel it's true power unless you drive really fast. What a joke! Lame excuse for a not so fast car

the Rx-8 is fast in it's own right. i didn't buy mine with the same goals as i have for Rx-7s and by the time i got it, i had already learned to see that it was not (and can never be) a replacement for the Rx-7.
