Hey guys, just raced my buddys 1979 Camaro and I figured I share.

My car is a 87 n/a that I swapped a S5 TII into. I'm running open downpipe cause I don't have money for exhaust yet. Removed the p/s, a/c, all the emissions, basically only has what it needs to run. Completely stripped interior.

My friend has a 1979 Camaro Z28 that him and his dad built. The car is CLEAN. I'll try to get pics up soon because it really is beautiful. I don't know the whole mod list I can get it if you guys are interested. All I know is the car was dyno'd at over 400 RWHP.

So anyway he asked me if I wanted to go somewhere tonight to open our cars up a bit. I said sure and we headed out to an abandoned road. After messing around for a bit we decided to line up. i revved up to about 3k, he had his 2 step going and we took off. I got a really good launch and had him in first. He started pulling in 2nd still spinning and I think by third he had traction.

We raced through third I think, I might have just got into fourth. I was surprised that he only had me by about 3 car lengths. I figured he'd blow my doors off. Granted he spun like crazy, but it's not my fault he has all that power and can't put it on the ground

So just wanted to share cause I thought it was pretty cool that a turbo'd 1.3 liter could hang with something that has a motor about 5 times as big. And they also have to have at least 20k into that car and I have under 3k into mine.

 

Just found out it made 486 RWHP last time they dyno'd it. And since then they installed meth injection.
