Thumbs up t2 vs. eclips gst

OK so tonight I was board, I had just taken my girl home. I came back to my hood and chilled at the Mobil for a lil bit then I drove up Colorado...then took a lil top speed run on the 134 from my on ramp to orange grove. I turned around and got back on the 134...hit 125, got back off and right *** i was getting off there was the gst eclipse, i got up next to him and went a lil faster then he did, then i punched it and pulled on him.....back onto colorado..we hit 2 red lights...the first light i revved up to 3500 pulled up on the ebrake..light turned green and took off like a mother ****** the dude never had a chance....the 2ed light i didn't really get a good as a start as the last one but it was still good..we were about the same until 2ed then i pulled a lil bit then 3ed gear i jumped 1 car then 2 cars then hazards....so tonight yes i did go out looking for a race but whatever, i found one and got a kill

yea, its kinda like a secondary clutch. When ur sittin at light try it, do this....rev up to rpm of choice (havent tryed this above 4300) w/clutch in and pull up on the ebrake w/the button held in the whole time, kinda let off the clutch so u roll like 1/2 in light turns green and drop the ebrake and let off the clutch at the same time...and there, if u do it right you will know. When i do it it gives me a ******* sweet *** pull off the line....i have takin my friend in his 1.8t off the line so there ya go

i have NEVER heard of pulling the brake, why in gods name would u want to pull on something that locks the rear tires, when those are the tires u WANT to spin. And taking a 1.8t off the line is nothing huge

gst's arent that fast and not just cause i have an rx7 its because i also have a 99 gst
but believe me they are not fast
they run on average 14.8 to 15.3 and thats about the same as a stock t2 so its a good race but with mods then its over

Yes, but "with mods" could go either way.

Modded T2 vs Stock GST, it's over for the GST.

Modded GST vs Stock T2, it's over for the T2.

Driver skill not taken into consideration, of course.

i have only heard this in the dsm community...

but a lot of guys with huge turbos hold the e-brake when brake boosting because the foot brake is simply not enough anymore, the sheer power of the turbo would start to push the car forward anyway. And im guessing you don't have a big turbo so....yea didn't need to use the e-brake at all.

maybe the e-brake preloads the rear supsension while you use both your feet on the gas and clutch.

the weight transfer to the rear has already occured seconds before launch, then booom your off!

this would make more sense...

The 1.8t would get RAPED by a GS-T, even stock for stock. I would know, I've done it many times. And too bad the eclipse wasnt modded, mine is faster than our 6MT RX-8 with just a boost controller and cat-back.

There is no way in hell a stock gsr could take a stock gs-t unless the gs-t was running like **** and/or the driver was an idiot. A stock 1st gen. gs-t has 200hp, 2nd gen has 215hp. A gs-r has what...150hp....170hp? It has significantly less power (and torque) than a gs-t and it is no lighter.

Just because you beat one car doesn't mean the car itself is always that slow. Look at the numbers. A stock gs-t runs high 14's or 15 flat in the 1/4, and some have gone faster than that stock. A stock gsr runs slower.

And yes, the 1.8t is a very slow car.

if stock...if moded then they are quick....visionboy has a video out and theres a moded 1.8 that smokes every car it races in the whole video, except when they pull up to a light and theres a 600 hp chevy ss and he gets smoked...but besides that it can hang with supras 2jz IS300's and alot of other cars

and another thing...

what the hell are you talking about geargrabber or whatever your name was
preload the rear, thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard, do you actually know anything about cars in general, u are pulling the freakin ebrake, all that does is squeeze the brake pads onto the rotor that is already not moving, unless u are rolling backwards pulling the ebrake has no effect on the suspension... i swear im sick of people saying the most stupid things and having other morons go "yeah yeah thats what i mean"

please...

also, by talking about the gsr i was just saying that the gst has the potential to be a quite slow car, and so does the tsi, both of them can really suck. now i have no doubt that they can be fast, but i havent ever seen a fast one, oh yeah an i beat one in my car before i had headers... so yeah i dont really have any respect for anything from mitsubishi

and as for the gsr, some GSRs are very quick, and the reason for this is that due to the timing of the vtech switchover some are fast, and some not as fast. my friend has without a doubt the fastest around, and he has just an aem ram air intake (sorry i forgot about that but it does nothing but make some noise)
for one reason or another when his engine was put together and timed and all that it just came out that the vtech timing was just about perfect for the max performance out of his car.... anyways

again its all my oppion so if you can pick something out of there to yell at me for go for it cause it makes me happy to have people flame me... hoestly it does

peace

thats stupid

thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard this is a hard FACT NO stock GSR will ever touch a GS-T ever ever ever GS-R weights 2672 lb, GS-T weighs 2877 lb a 205 lb difference. I'm not bashing either of these cars because i once wanted to own both, and looked into purchasing them before turning to the 7.

ok think about where all the GS-R's power comes in because of the v-tec.
weight: 2672
170 hp @ 7600 rpm, 128 ft-lbs of torque at 6200 rpm
0-60: 7.2, qtr mile: 15.3

now look at the GS-T's..
weight: 2877
210 hp @ 6000 rpm, 205 ft-lb of torque @ 6000
0-60: 6.5, qtr mile: 14.9

you guys take your pick.
