Surprised an Aston Martin DB7...

I was on my way home from work, cruising at about 70 when I spotted this really nice looking green car. It was about 30 cars in front but the road was clear so i just kept going at the same speed till i cought up. Pulled up next to it expecting to see some limp dick old rich guy but it was a young guy so gave him a nod and kept looking at thr car. I wasnt expecting much at this point cause so i sped back up to 70 and kept going.....Right, I pull ahead only to see him match my move and follow. Nice he wants to play, I'm game. He passed me, i got behind him cause there were some cars around. this part of the parkway goes downhill at a decent angle and there are some turns like the back section of VIR just not as tight. My shocks are blown so my handling is BAD. Were doing about 80 which is pretty safe. I'm just keeping up at this point when exiting the last corner i get a bit throttle happy and almost lost the car but got it back and stayed on the gas. showed him a little of what i have and got his attention. We line up side to side looking at each other. I gave him the head start and heard him downsihifting(damn, that was guiet!) barely and squat so i gun it too. Crap somethings wrong, it tried but shut down....****! off the gas back on gently trying to feel around, listen for anything weird...nothing so i get on it, hit my 10 pounds and thats the end. He pulled away but i was right on him and went buy him at about 5800 rpms in 3rd and by the time i got to 7k it was 2 cars so I killed it! We had cars ahead so i backed off. He didnt line up and just stayed behind me till i had to exit.....Nice of him to honk as he went by! Its nice to beat up on James Bond's ride!

james bond drove a vanquish

and the(97 and below) DB7 runs mid 13s and can be had for 60,000 now.

im not sure what the newer ones run.

a vanquish would have abeen a much better match.

good kill, it's always nice to beat up on a car someone had to put down some bank for. NY to VIR is quite a trip. are you talking about the back section as in the rollercoaster? if you can find a road like that you don't have to pay uber $$$ to drive on.

James Bond doesn't drive a Vanquish, only in "Die Another day" did he drive a vanquish, the car hs actually owns (not his business car, aka the vanquish, the various bmw's in previous films) is an old Astin Martin DB something . . . not that i'm a 007 buff but get your facts straight

Yeah, it wasnt a vanquish....but common how much closer can you get?
BTW, at 60k its not exactly a bargain. Very nice looking car!

youre right, the rollercoaster...of course being a public road its not as nice as the track but still fun!

The older one you speak of is the Aston Martin DB5, one of the most sought after and valuable classic Aston's to date.
