Am I the only one who is disappointed by all the people who use rx7's supreme handling and weight balance for the straight line? The car wasn't really designed for drag. And no, I'm not much of a fan of drifters either, it looks cool and all, but really, if drifting was so much faster and efficient, why wouldn't the indy cars with millions of $ on the line for a race even try it?

Not telling anyone how to drive, it's your car, abuse it however makes you happy, but I just wanted to express my feelings towards rx7 drivers that are hyper focused on thier 1/4 mile.

people who are serious about drifting do not think drifting is faster. i have no idea where you got that idea from.

drifters themselves often analogize drifting and racing to the relationship between figure skating and speed skating.

sometimes it is faster to drift a corner (depending on the corner) but the reason indy cars don't do it is they have to preserve their tires. yeah, they could drift every corner, but then they would pit every couple of laps. (which defeats the purpose)

Then spending time counter steering & losing traction is surely faster than to pave the asphalt with rubber and stick...

No, dumb ****, that is my opinion, based on me, hence the IMO part your small brain skimed over. I have been fairly fast in both a straight line, and through corners, so again, IMO, anything slower than 12's is a waste of MY time. Maybe when you get to drive something fast you will understand.

the only reason civics have a bad rep. is b/c most teenagers get em for there first cars, stick a wal-mart intake and exhaust on em, and call em fast, i have a rx-7 and civic, both turbo toys.. and ill tell u this, my civic is damn fast.. but of course, my rx-7 pulls harder.. =)

definitely NOT. my guess would be because drag racing and getting your parents to pay/co-sign for your mods/car is easier than growing some ***** and learning how to drive... as for drifting it looks cool, I'd try it in a big empty parking lot but its a crowd pleaser (judged) and mistakes can cost you...
