People abusing rental cars is build into the business model. It's also build into the price structure. You pay for the right to beat the living sh*t out of that car. They even have a secondary industry built up around selling abused rental cars after they've been put out to pasture.

Bottom line is that these people are making money hand over fist, shareholders are cashing in on it and you pay for the privilege. Why not bounce it off the rev limiter. You only live once
