stupid*** corvette owner

so im in arizona for work, and we have a honda accord rental car. Well my buddy likes to drive it like a jackass, cause its a rental, bouncing it off redline, etc..

anyway, so we are headed to a place to shoot some pool, and he is flooring it and letting off, over and over, and we catch up to this C5 corvette. then the corvette takes off when we get next to him, wtf?? he thinks we were trying to race him haha. he slows down and we eventually catch back up, and my buddy is still driving like an ***, and the corvette takes off again lol!

what kind of stupidass corvette owner tries to race a stock Honda accord?? what has he to prove?? i got a good laugh out of that. just that he would waste the gas to prove hes faster than a honda rental car

lol, if I had a corvette and I had some shitty honda that was driving like it wanted to race, I would probably burn him too.

for some reason i've come to realize ls1 owners are pretty much like that in all aspects. even though most cars with an ls1 are pretty quick, they always feel like they have something to prove. i think my friend shaun that has a c5 almost **** when i beat him by about 5 car lenghts in my fd.

Tell your friend to quit driving like an azz...Bouncing the Honda off the rev limiter and abusing someone elses property because it isn't yours is pretty pathetic.

I could say the same thing about rotary engine owners and be just as right as you are. It all depends on your experiences that formulated your opinion.

When I had my 91 Camry I saw some person in an accord driving like an ***, we pulled up to a stop light together and i revved at him, I put it in neutral revved up to redline(this was a $250 car) and dropped it in gear when it turned green, the transmission was weak and didnt grab quick so he got me off the line, but then i came ahead and i had him by a little more than a car length until i shifted out of 2nd(stupid automatic), keep in minds, this is at 123k with it burning a quart of oil every 300 miles and a fucked up tranny and torque converter and pepboys special tires. This was a new looking 00 accord with wheels and an exhaust of some sort. And yes, it was a 4 cyl camry.

Some people should just give up on life now, if theyre going to do something as pointless as that. If you want a honda get something worth modding.

Alright, as a Vette owner/driver, I feel a partial need to defend the owner in question.

If your friend was driving like a retard, he could have been (like has already been mentioned) a) trying to get the hell away from you, b) thought you wanted to race, and then shut you down, twice, or c) just felt like showing off. Either way, no reason to bag on him. There are plenty of ricers out there that need to be shut down, and most drive like your friend probably was.

You say that people with LS1's are trying to prove something. Nah, not all. Some, yeah. Punk kids in Camaros, and Firebirds, but most of those were actually LT1's. The ones that actually have an LS1 were 96-up i believe.

I WAS one of those punk kids of which i speak, not too long ago, so you are partially right, but I really dont give a rats *** whether you can out accelerate me. Can you out drive me? If the answer is still yes, then props to you, glad that you beat me, maybe we can do it again some time. If no, then work on your driving more, and your tuning less.

Also, did your friend shaun have a C5 Z06? Or was it a bone stock one? The difference comes out to about 50 hp and 50 ft lbs. (if it is an 02 or later, and about 40hp 40ftlbs if its 01) Keep in mind, the regular vette is fast, but 350hp and 350ftlbs isnt all that much in a 3500 lb car.

Remember though, how many obnoxious ricers are there? How many do you think try and show off to the vette? And how many times does he let it slide? Regardless, doesnt mean that hes an idiot. And so you = failure. Tell your friend to not drive like a retard, but +2 for helping destroy a rental car.

Sounds to me like this thread should be changed to ~ "I need something to bitch about, lets go with Vettes"

Ehh you're failing in car knowledge too, the LS1 started in 98 for the F-chassis.
You sound like a ricer with "out drive me". Thats some Honda-Tech **** if I ever heard it.

Pathetic, the rental business is basically owned by the shareholders, private individuals. When idiots abuse equipment we all pay.

Okay, first off I said I believe they got the LS1 96 up, indicating of course that I wasnt sure, and that I could be wrong. Dont get your knickers in a twist jack ***.

Dude, dont even start with calling me a ricer. If you even bothered to think about what I wrote, which apparently you didnt... What I mean by that is, you can tune your car and crank up the boost/hp as much as you want, or set up the suspension, but if you cant control the car its all for nothing.

To break it down even more for you, Joe Shmoe could go out and buy a McLaren F1, but if he cant drive worth a **** its going to end up on the side of the road if he tries to drive it really hard. On the flip side, if Joe Shmoe starts with say...an RX7, and learns how to drive by doing autocross, circut racing, etc. And then goes and buys said McLaren F1, he would probably be a lot better off, and less likely to crash.

I still dont see where you get off saying that I fail in car knowledge, since all of my other information was right, except that I wasnt sure what year the LS1 started seeing use in the F series.

.

Lol I didnt call you a ricer directly...its a commonly used line by that crowd.

Most ricers don't own a C5. Yeah I'm aware the driver makes the car much more often than not.

Just stick poking.

Maybe if you owned an LS1 you would know how much fun they are to drive. Just because they are cutting edge pushrod engines that stood the V8 world on it's ear, doesn't mean I'm going to drive it like a granny. No, they are great engines. The feel great, sound great, are engineered great, and very easy to work on.

If you knew what 0-60 in 3 secs felt like, you would do it at every light too; no matter who was beside you. Now, bring your fd up my way and I'll show YOU what tail lights look like at 5 car lengths.
