i honestly think it is a fad that ricers love to follow.....just like the HONDA drag fad with the B20 swaps and ****.........thank God that the drifting fad is getting hyped up......now I can prolly find a nice 88-90 beater HONDA CRX and not worry about it costing 3K.

-its cost effective
-its a simple swap (you change like one heater hose on the back)
-there is plenty of aftermarket support
-there is some domestic oem part availability (you can cannabalize off some nissan cars)
-it is (usually) a lower mileage motor (note most ka's are at the 130k mark or higher)
-it is a smoother motor
-it is a higher revving motor
-it is a stock turbocharged motor (no idleing issues or tuning problems)
-an experienced owner can get the swap done in a single day
nobody in the 240sx community thinks the swap is impressive. its just an easy swap with good gains, fairly cheap and (to most) makes the car alot more fun to drive.
why is the240sx so popular? well for someone who wants to drive a rear wheel drive car that isn't a miata, there simply aren't too many options under $5k. we are not all drifters. in fact, serious drifters on the 240 forums are few and far between.
rb26 swap has been done; there are a decent number of them now. and doing one swap over another just for the sake of being different is kind of lame.

Nice attitude. You sure give the s2k owners a good name. You seem to only post on this forum when someone has a story about beating an s2k. Are you that bored? Maybe you should stick to Hondatech where all the civic and integra owners can stroke your ego all day long.

I have a place in my heart for anything light and RWD, especially if it has an open top.
But, I'm at a loss as to how/why anyone with a Rotary powered car could point and laugh at any other car's lack of torque.
S2k= High rev'ing, low(er) torque, low displacement motor...
13b=High rev'ing, low(er) torque, low displacement motor...
Both need FI to be anything threatening.
Bah.

S2k and FC Rx7's and 240SX's all lack FI (Unless its a TII)...FI being Forced Induction.
Yes, it usually means Fuel Injection, but since that's a norm and totally outside this issue I figured everyone would assume I was talking about Forced Induction (I.E. Supercharger/Turbocharger)

EFI is the term used for Fuel Injection.

to make higher power, things get complicated. i think the practical limit is around 250hp to the wheels before things on the inside start getting hurt. there are 500-600hp ka's out there. i don't think anyone has broken the 700hp mark yet.
but to make 200+ hp, you're going to need to piece together your own kit and tune it (tuning issues...). if you're good, this is probably the cheapest way to make more power. or you can buy a premade kit that is already tuned. there are a few turbo kits, but i think greddy is the only one who makes a pretuned kit for the ka. it costs like $3000+ with an intercooler. for that price, you could easily get a sr20.

RB26s are nuts. A guy with an older 240 and a guy with a 96 240 both have rb26s in them. They both run like 20 psi and i have seen both of them hit 10.6s. They are nuts

S2K are cake
seriously not one s2k has beaten me. Even with a rinky dink test pipe and a K+N I seriously left two of them at the same time once and dont even get me started about the *** whoopings that have commenced with the simple **** I have done to my FC. S2Ks are weak sauce.

I like the S2000's. I have respect for any small rwd car. The other day a guy in a s2000 raced me in my 87 TII. We took off from around 4.5k rpm in 2nd. As soon as I hit 3rd i left him. I got open exhaust and rtek 1.7. Looks like he had some mufflers on his. Still he help up pretty good. I don't think I deserve a pat on a back. I believe he lost because he had a hot female passanger adding on about extra 120lbs to his curb weight , so u see it's all about power/weight ratio
