You don't know what you are talking about.

The Porsche GT2 is the fastest twin turbo made and it's a two wheel rear drive. It's faster from 0- 60 and everywhere else than the AWD car. The AWD weighs more and the tranny uses more hp.

Porsche twin turbo times.

Look what they dyno.

Secondly, 360 rwhp in an RX-7 will get you low 11's and 120 plus trap speeds.

Lastly I used to own a Turbo Porsche.

^owned, yeah stock 911t 996 run low to mid 12s, 420 flywheel hp. I think Gansan on BM got it to 12.2xx on the 400m test, which is a little shorter than a 1/4. That being said, it doesnt take much to mod up a 996 911t.

Not to mention the advantage of either a AWD vs RWD launch still depends on the tires used. Traction is still traction, and if you can hook up with two rear wheels, you're going to be putting your power to the ground more effectively.

Not that anyone needs more Porsche banter and G-tech data from me, but, LOL,..........

Now and again there will be a guy that knows how to launch one of the 996tts, and is willing to dish out a bit of abuse to his manual transmission car. These people generally own a performance shop, race, test for the factory or magazines or are just addicted to speed like most people that read the kills section. Here's the RPM data from a run from one of my buddies with a car of the type. It's a very close to perfect launch for a stock 996tt X50. This is starting at over 5500 rpm and briskly letting out the clutch. If you do it right the turbo lag will be minimal along with a little wheel hop and chirping most the way through first. (not for the squeamish) It hooked up at about 1 second into the run and the first to second shift was at 2 seconds. The other shifts were with barely lifting the throttle and in the .25 second range. That's very good. Notice how it wings up over 7000 rpm at shifts. It's an 11.857 1/4 with 12 inch rollout. The data Porsche provides for these cars has zero rollout. Magazines usually use a rollout now days.

Then again in the real world if you stop at a red light and bump into the other 99.9% of the average guys that are going to be driving a 996tt and amazingly they actually run you from a stop he'll fall flat out of the hole when he tries to launch from idle or slightly above. If they have the X50 or S model they'll have a bit more power, but also larger turbos with bigger intercoolers to lag even worse out of the hole. The average guy will then shift early and slow. Most guys are going to have 5+ second 0 - 60 times and be running 1/4 miles in the +/- 13 second range. Make sure you have drag radials and a cat back on your stock FD.

I've been trying to get a couple of my friends with less than perfect acceleration skills to do G-tech runs in 996tt X50 Cabriolet, 996tt X50 stage 2 and Carrara GT, but it's hard to get them to commit and go through with the testing.
