That was me actually who the kid is talking about, I am kinda new to racing and I need to get my wideband and tune, as the kid said, I was surprised it was as close as it was, but then again, I have a lot of tuning issues to resolve, no more racing until that happens, dont wanna make a bad name for the rest of you lovely people.

Mods:

Blitz FMIC
Non-Sequential convert, running around 13.5 lbs.
Bosch Fuel pump
1300 secondaries
9.5 lb flywheel
Fluidyne

Full 3" exhaust, no cats RB Duals
PFC w/ datalogit, anxiously awaiting wideband!!!

On stock engine with about 20,000 miles.

Ack, I hate the rx8. At first I loved it (solely due to my infatuation of the 7) then I realized how pathetic it was. Maybe if they come out with a mazdaspeed version I may come around.

e36 is the 3 series. But 318, 323/325 (same engine, different number on trunk), 328, and m3 all have some general body style. e38 is the 7 series, e39 is a 5 series. On BMW models for same generation, they utilize roughly the same body (sometimes subtle differences) and they just change the engine. That is the beauty about BMW. If you only want luxury, you could buy a 318, have all teh same luxuries as a 328 or m3, but just not be as fast. Same way with like the 525 compared to the 540 or M5.

Also, when i talked about body differences. M3 has a different rear bumper/valence, side skirts, front bumper and mirrors than the other 3 series. (that is the most notable thigns). Half of the M3 parts though have an embossed ///M symbol on them.

That was you in that story? Holy cow, that is crazy that you lost. No offense to ya, but get some practice and tuned. You should've had him. I was thinking maybe he raced a FC. I thought for sure it was since it was that close of a race.

yeah i typoed that i meant e36 hehe, but thanks for the info on the m3 body differences. the rx8 isn't too pathetic with its current 450rwhp and about 2750 pounds of weight with a 50/50 weight distribution with full suspension modification...

how much power would you be pushing once a tune?

Stock they have 333hp n/a. They can get some power from mods, but not a whole lot short of FI.
