BMW's don't lose cuz they never race. I always get the "i drive a bmw and your a piece of **** look" Only had 1 BMW race me 4th gear on the freeway, i think he took that paper plate M3 back to the dealer after that.

Haha, when my friend got a BMW, we drove around with that "I drive a BMW and you're a POS" look just for the fun of it. It was funny.

Most of the posts on that thread were praising the FD and the people seemed fairly knowledgable about our cars. Nice to see others have respect!

sounds like that 7 wasn't running well. the 95 m3 is a dog, i would have expected that the rx7 would have pummeled that kraut car. and the truth about the price is that guy paid less for his m3 than he would have for an fd

Yea, it did seem like there were a few guys who had some idea about the workings of a rotary. That whole forum as a very differnt "feel" that ours. Snobby, pretentious money spending. And, check out the classified section, they switch wheels more than I change spark plugs!

Don't be too quick to judge M3 owners... Plenty of us own both. As a matter of fact, I'm budgeting to buy a used E46 M3 next summer.... standy for some upgraded POS looks!

Remember that stock to stock, an FD had only a slight edge over an E36 M3 in straightline accel. The M3 had better brakes and the suspension is the driver's choice (autocross dominance by the FD's not withstanding).

Having had both for for nearly a decade, the M3 is a MUCH better all around car IMO if you take into account performance, durability, comfort and dealer support .

That said, my "fast" car is the RX-7. If you have any doubt, check my sig link!

Agreed, 400hp sedan that handles well and is almost bulletproof has it's merrits. But if your looking for best bang for the buck with good looks, Fd is hard to beat
I just don't get the attitude Here in Cali. I pass as many BMW's on my way to work as Chevy pickups: they seem to be a very "common" car now.

why does everyone hate BMWS. i have a bimmer and i love RX7's i am first to admit i dont no anything near what you guys do about them but i dont hate them for no reason. We arent ******** or stuck up read out threads and you know we dont like the people who make us out to look that way. M3s are fast and there are M3s on the forums that would take any of you in a race so learn alittle about bimmers then judge on how much u hate them. People on the forum werent putting down the rx7 in any way most saying he should have won.

i only got 1 m3 to race me. but he was pretty cool and took the loss like a champ.
however all other owners feel like not wasting there time thinking its not a fair race on there side. BOY ARE THEY WRONG. (t78 destroys you)

however i got to see the 2006 m3. 4.0liter with 430hp @ the wheels. so watch out stock twin owners

Relax, not "everyone" hates bmws'. You must admit however that since there is a perceived prestiege with owning a BMW, more pretentious people are going to gravitate towards it. As you later said, 40 year old women are more likely to buy a BMW than an RX7, and of course with that, people who really think they have something to prove. I'm not saying you're one of those people, but in my experience, I more often see a BMW driver cross three lanes of traffic without a signal than I ever do an RX7 driver.

Regardless, I like many BMW, and almost bought a 7 series...

I dont much care for BMW's. Nice cars ect but they are blah.

I raced a Dinan M3 I think it was a E36 It was SC'd.

He found out that i had the 99spec tail lights and not the stockers

While you sound like a reasonable dude, you aren't going to make a lot of friends with this statement. We've got fast cars on our forum, too. And we know about that BMW with the rotary swap!

huh anyone take a step back and notice the BMW guys are a lot friendlier and open to others cars than we are? we are all downing the BMW guys and they are saying that the FD should have beat him even worse. some of you guys are being too stereotypical and hypocritical at the same time and that's annoying. also dont get too cocky properly turboed e36's can hand it to you too unless your running a turbo swap.

LoL, that is for damn sure right there. I was on here along time ago, trying to study up on FD's. I'm one of the "few" guys on Bf.c that are "knowledgable" of the FD's. But when I was on here studying, I repeatedly got flamed. Many guys on this board are definately not the friendliest. Also though, the bimmer owners aren't immune. There are quite a few elitist that think BMW is the end all car.

Also, if I found an FD on the road, I would race you in a heartbeat. I have wanted to run one for so long.

But yeah, on that kill story, I swear it had to have been a FC. For the 95 m3 to win. The FD is a beast. Great car. But if that was an FD, that guy definately didn't take care of his 7.

Ummm.....would that be because there is alot bigger abundance of BMWs than there is FD RX-7s on the road? I mean damn, I'm sure most people can't tell the difference between a 318 and a M3 (e36 series. 92-99) or a 525 and a M5. To msot people a bimmer is just a BMW. People say "Oh that guy drives a BMW" has no clue what it is. THey will think someguy has alot of money because he bought a 92 318 for $2k. Also you have 80 year old retirees to 16yr old ricers driving BMWs. SOme are enthusiasts, most aren't.

mdmo are you xtrmn8tr?

But yeah, I learned about FD's (mainly because I wanted one) and so I can normally speak on ehalf of the FD owners when somebody says they beat one. I will tell them they are full of crap, or thye beat a driver. I know how easily modded, easily blown up, or easily made reliable the FDs are. How often does FD_Newbie post on here? He was on Bf.c for awhile, and we would go on and on abut stuff in threads about FDs. I was the only one that could post pretty correct info when dealing with him. Most would do stereotype posts that were utterly wrong.

edit: btw Im giterdone on Bf.c (I can't use my sig yet....not enogh posts...how many I need? 100?)

This played a small part in why I bought my FD instead of an e36 m3. I live in a very wealthy area where bimmers are more common then ford f-150s, and did not want to be lumped into the category of a snobby BMW owner. Although I dont have a bimmer I have been a member of dtmpower since the begining just because I can respect any car manufacturer who doesnt cheap out and make shitty fwd cars.

I also am surprised of how knowledgable the bimmer guys are of our cars, they all seem pretty cool.
