Ran A supra tonite

Before you start on this kill please be aware that it is a pretty dull story.

I ran a newer looking supra today (In aus they can be imported up until they were no longer manufactured) He had an exhaust and I have no idea what else.
He started in front, and went before I had a change to get along side of him. So I started half a car length behind, I was in third but could have been in second. I was probably at whatever speed 6k rpm is in second, but in third. (ie I was at 6k rpm, in second, went to third and then straight away the run started)

He went a moment before me, and pulled to a car length in front. I am thinking OMG, this guy is gonna kill me, but then I notice his car drop at the front and realise he is changing gears, whilst I am just hitting the sweet spot in third. So I started to inch on him. However, it was not a good road or time of day to wind out third, so I had to stop before I had a chance to catch him.

So it was really the worst kind of race, the one where you are sure you were faster (if only slightly) but you also just know the other guy thinks he won the race. Oh well. I was pretty happy with the way my car ran, it only has basic mods, and from what I have read here the supra is supposed to be a straight line highway racer.

I don't think that is long enough to be considered a real race. Too bad you didn't get a longer run at him .

No, not a real race, and i think in a proper race I would have been the victor. In the seven, against most cars you know that if you are holding side by side at 6k rpm, then by 8k rpm your gonna be somewhere in front.

Not a Supra, a well done supra pulls like a frieght train straight though its rev range where a stock turbo FD starts to get a little "winded" 7.5-8krpm. That top end is why the supra got such a reputation for being a highway monster.

Diamond geeza, you are kidding right? you think I don't know a supra when I see one? Maybe it was a camry. What other car could it possibly be? My friend has a N/A supra, (which I have raced and of course beaten) I think I would know one when I saw one. Idiot.

All the supras in oz are jap models. I don't know if they were the same as the U.S models, but as a general rule the jap models are the highest spec. I am assuming the car was same or less modified than mine.

I don't know what year it was, but I thought that the newer ones had different tail lights, which this one had, but it could have just been new tial lights and not a newer car. I don't know the different models that well. But it was the latest shape.

First off I never commented on your automotive knowledge (which is clearly lacking). In your post previous to mine you had commented that you felt ANY car you could hang with to 6krpm you could pull on after that....which I clearly quoted in my post. I simply replied that your assumption would not hold correct against a Supra. So get off my nutz and let an ostriche stuff its head up your *** so you can get yours out of it cobba
