Race disaster!
Ok well i was casually cruising down the highway headed home when all of the sudden i hit the infamous 5:00pm traffic! So i slow my roll to 60 mph and fall in line. As i'm approaching my exit i notice a car coming up beside me in the left lane with his blinker on. Now i see this everyday and it really pisses me off when i see people doing this. So instead of leaving the two car length gap infront of me i decide to block this guy out and make him wait in line like everyone else. So as he goes to pass I down shift to forth and speed it up a little. OMG did that **** him off. So instead of trying to tuck in behind me the guy gets on the gas and moves forward, only to find that no other spots are available for him to slide into. So he starts to fall back again in line looking for a spot. By this time i have reopened the gap infront of me and i'm waiting patiently as i'm approaching the exit. Seeing the gap the guy in the van tries to cut me off again. So this time i make it very clear that he's not gonna get infront of me and i drop it into 3rd and run WOT to quickly close the gap. As he hears my motor, the van gases it to and BANG, all i hear is a snap and the van quickly begins to fall back. Stuipd SOB, i'm glad for once those ******* drivers didnt get their way!

WOT --> Wide open throttle
You know, traffic jams really wouldn't last that long if everyone let atlease one person in line.
I don't understand why, when everyone is ******* going the same speed, you just can't let someone in. Is 20 feet further behind from where you were really going to make you that late?
I can understand if you are doing 80 in the fast lane and a person decides to get into your lane while doing 60; but, when you are all going the same speed, in a congested area, why is it such a big deal to let someone in?

Yeah I always let one person in but i close the gap on everybody else. And The best way to get ahead in traffic is to pass in the right lanes or atleast it works in san diego. everybody just gets into the fast lan and goes 68 pisses me the **** off. 68 is a bad speed for my car...

Because when they know there is a merge lane ahead that forces them to merge into the single lane, and wait till the last F'ing minute to do so and force their way in and clog up the hole even more, instead of waiting like everyone else by merging where everyone is suppose to merge, thats what pisses people off.

I won't let go
You had a 2 car gap. What was the big deal. I get pissed at people like that because now you've got people behind you who will close the gap on you when you speed up, then have to fall back when you do. That starts yet another accordian effect and THAT'S what ***** up traffic. Good job.
And if you think 60 is sitting in a traffic jam...try coming to Chicago.

I'm with 90WhiteVrt on this one. You have to try I40/440 during rush hour sometime. Miles of stop and go twice a day. Meanwhile everywhere else everyone in this city seems to think they can skip getting in line when they know there is an exit or merge up ahead and stay in the through lane to the last minute, put on their blinker, cut over one or two lanes and expect to pull in. I don't mind when it's basic 2 or 3 lanes of traffic and everyone is giving everyone a chance to merge and playing by the same rules but down here people suck at driving! They're all the time driving past the line that has formed to take an exit and then cutting on their blinker with the attitude of "you should let me in". I look at it like this, if it's a crowd of people trying to funnel through a door after the movie lets out everyone should take their turn and be pretty cool with it, but when there is a line waiting to buy their ticket you don't walk by and try to bust in.

The guy in the van was 'too important' to wait in line like everybody else, & was trying to 'cut' in line to save hinmself time... I would have done the same thing as 90WhiteVrt

you did the right thing! this isn't ******* pre-school, wait in line and dont try to 'ditch' everyone. **** like that pisses me off so bad and even worse is the people who let them over. IF you're one of the people who puts their blinker on and flies past everyone waiting in line with logic like 'these people not letting me over are what cause traffic', then you're an idiot and an *******.

the traffic is slowed by people who come to a stop in an otherwise free moving lane, trying to get over at the last moment, causing all kinds of lane switching/braking, not the guy who got over and wouldn't let his dumbass in at the last second.

the best is when you are in the fast lane, and someone is trying to pass you but there is traffic.... they go into the middle lane, then fly by you...then cant get back in because there are cars in the way so they slow down....then pull in behind you...pass that car...try it again...fail again...i have seen people do this 4 or 5 times in a matter of a few miles. ARE YOU GETTING ANYWHERE FASTER THAN ME????
