Prelude Vs. FC RX7 n/a

Ok, I went through the drive thru at KFC today. At the window to pay the cashier says hey u got anything in that talking about my car. I said just a K&N filter right now, and an electric cutout soon to come. Anyway he asks me if I race and I told him just people around town nothing official, then he says "I'll race you with that." He points behind me to a Prelude, I didn't get to ask what year because someone was behind me anyway..... I am goin back there tomorrow to get something worked out probably for like next weekend or something maybe. I will try to get footage or pics and post the results here.

If it's not an H22, you've got it, if it is, you're going to be destroyed.

Some Pics of His Car

Here are some pics of the Prelude I am going to race.

You can't really tell from the pics but his rims were really damaged on the lips for some reason. The pic of the duct tape made me laugh so hard, looks like he tried to cover the spoiler holes with duct tape, lmao. Anyway I will set a race up soon and I will definately video tape it.

I'm with #s on this one...I got my *** handed to me by my boy driving an accord with a H22. Up untill that point I had never lost to an accord in my FC. I was confident up untill I saw him pass me and pull 2 cars on me all the way to 120 when i started to reel him back in...

Most were F22s, the same motor as the Accord, '97-'01 were all H22s.

you might be a little wrong about that f22. the pre 94's had that f22. the prelude i had 96 vtec h23 (blown as in up) and my brother has a 94 which is the same body posted above and has a h22 si in his so be careful because if he has mods he'll hand you your ***! i've seen the race between my brothers girl driving and a buddy driving a N/A and he got pulled on, bad!

Beaten by H22 Accords!?!?! Ok first off, he should be able to beat the prelude. I raced a guy after school alot in my 90GXL and didnt have any problem putting 3 car lengths on him up to about 60. Only mod was an intake, aftermarket clutch and exhaust. He had a similar setup. As far as you losing to accords with H22's, i dont understand. My other driver is a 00 Accord with the 3.0 VTEC. I have a convertible with full exhaust, intake, slight weight reduction and pulleys and i have no problem beating my dad when he races me. Im confident that you can take out the prelude, no prob.

So what year do you guys think that his car is? I didn't see any V-Tec badges on his car and I figure if he had a V-Tec he would rep it.

well from what i see those are SI wheels which means most likely its a h22 inside. a lot of hondas actually debadge their cars from vtec or dohc for the "sleeper appeal." h22's and k20's are the main engines now for hondas but the b-series is still most popular. gluck with it.

Ok well I am getting an electric cutout installed into my exhaust system in the next week or so I will probably race him after I get that. I figure that should give me another 30-50HP or so.

The 4th gens that ended in 96 either had the h23 non vtec or the h22 vtec. The h22 came in the SI and the prelude SRV i think. The 4th gens with the h22s are faster than the newer 5th gens with h22 b/c the older ones are lighter. I think he has the h23 since the prelude badge he has on the back isnt the vtec badge. But for all you know he could have a jdm h22 swap so its all up to you...
