Poor running FD...vs...2 sti's/Evo/350z

These are all my buddies cars and we went out the other night to just mess around. This was no stop and go kinda of stuff. It was late night freeway gear drops. My car runs soooo rich and has a horrible hesitation at 4k but I still pulled on all of them. Their mods were basic... hardpipes turbo/headers(zcar) back exhaust. My car has some hackjob front mount with a fan on it(?) and turbo back exhaust(thats it). I pulled on the Z the best. The evo wasnt too bad. I barely took one of the STI's. These people are getting killed by their huge car payments and insurance.... their cars do look and run nice but I like eating more than just top ramen.
In conclusion my 1993 car with basic mods can still do its thing even though it rattles like a bitch and is horribly loud.... plus I didnt spend 30k+ on it I am a noob FD owner(former DSM) and I ******* love it.

nice... it would have probally have been different from a stop since the evo and the stis both would expierience drive train loss at high way+ speeds but nice kills

dom your misinformed, you showed it in the thread about the kid beating 2 wrx's with a stock n/a rx7. now you have proved how much you dont know about subies. with just a 4'' dp and cb and intake i dyno'd at 283 so by your numbers i gained almost 60 awhp wow. actually they dyno between 255-260, you really need to do research before you post on something you know nothing about.

I know I would lose horribly in a drag. My buddies modded their cars(evo/sti) and ran into problems too. The evo has basic bolt ons and runs like **** throwing engine codes ect. The guy with one of the STI's bought it new and put an hks BOV kit on it(vented) and turbo back exhaust and his boost sensor(im assuming electronic boost control) went to **** twice and now the dealer wont fix it. His car spikes at 22lbs or some **** and then throws codes. All I know is that I'm happy with my FD now I just need to learn how to tune it.....

with my sti i ended up taking off the turboxs blow off valve cuz it was causing compression stall in 5th gear. that cheap *** piece of **** RFL bov god i hate that thing and that company. well anyways the spring kept getting weaker and weaker and wouldnt rebound and that was causing the stalling, and another thing unless your buddy is running a fuel cut defenser he cant run 22psi. the computer shuts off fuel after 17.5 psi. IF you mod the sti SMARTLY its not going to throw codes on the owner.

All he did was put on a dp, exhaust, and hks SSQ kit. He just told me it spiked at it so I dunno.
