My FD vs M3

I know this should be in kilsl section but this one is for my 3rd gen brothers....

Well there are some little meets in my town every tuesday night and theres a 95 black M3 there semi-stock who says he can take me blah blah "my little 1.3L is a pos blah blah" Well anways I showed up for the first time that night and everyone was cumming their pants because the "FD" was there. Well I called him out and said ill race him from a roll, he can pick any speed so he said 30mph, which so we did. I was at about 3-3.5k in 2nd when we were taking off. He stayed with me for about a second till I hit 4-4.5 and i took off. I killed him with about 5 car lengths. His excuse was that I was in my powerban so he wanted to race me from a dig which we did so too. I launched at about 3.5 and beat him right off the line and ended up killing him by about 3-4 cars.

My mods are:

full non-seq stock twins no emissions.
pettit s.s dp
greddy evo 3" cat

Video quality not great but you get the point..... semi-stock fd > semi-stock m3 badly.

enjoy!

yes, way to repersent the 7. Although, be careful with racing, if you get caught its a mandatory court date...

Yes, the FD with a few bolt ons in also faster than the newer 333hp M3 cars also.

Nice kill man. Lots of those Beemer guys are too cocky/confident. I get 'em all the time on the street. The old M3 is SLOW. My boy SPANKS them w/ his Volvo C70 lol. And the new M3 is NOTHING compared to a modded FD. The streets around here are actually quite boring nowadays. I'm trying to line up a race w/ a local Viper owner around here...now THAT should be interesting

I love the new M3s and would take one any day over an FD. The M3 is designed to be a classy, yet semi sports car, not a prone to breaking high maintenance sports car

So bricke, the next time I race one for slips, would you trade me my new M3 for your FD?

EDIT: I just saw the writing under your avatar...what happened to your FD?!?!

I sold it a few months ago. I couldn't justify having so much money in a car I drove like 5000 miles a year. It just wasn't practical. And the final straw was this. I was home at 11:30pm one night watching TV. The doorbell rings and I answer the door and it's 2 high school kids (I'm 29). They ask if I want to come out racing some STi from Chicago for $500. I had no idea who these kids were, or how the hell they knew where I lived since I am unlisted in the phone book. At that point I knew it was time to sell before my house got broke into for my car or vandalized.

I'll be shopping in the M3 or Z06 department next summer, but in the meantime I'm having a ton of fun with my Yota 4x4 and riding trails, exploring places my car could never get to

Bryan, I woulda at LEAST taken the $500 from him, THEN sold it! I'm sorry to hear you sold her tho I drive mine less than 5,000 miles a year, and it seems that the more I spend on her, the less I drive her, but still, somehow, when I DO drive her, it all seems worthwhile... ahhh... hehe

I still have A/C, P/S, ABS, a park bench on the rear hatch, lambo doors, a sub, amps, speakers, gauges, and a passenger, rolling on 18s, and I STILL spank the pants off of M3s. Trust me, keeping/ditching A/C isn't the end-all

Of course it is. I always have a place to sit while enjoying the view from outside the car!

I have pretty much ALL the bolt-ons, including MP, running 13psi on a VERY aggressive street tune. Full mod list can be found in this thread (which you've posted in ) https://www.rx7club.com/racing-kills-lounge-10/my-fd-vs-04-cobra-modded-d-447433/

Oh and to clarify, I didn't mean that I run w/ the A/C on...just that I still HAVE my A/C. kuroi said "he still has a/c" not "he had his A/C on" ie the guy didn't ditch the entire a/c system to save weight, which is what I was scoffing at. I still have ALL my stuff and I'm still smokin M3s (and chipped Stangs, as in that thread). Bad memory?

Ppl just tend to underestimate FDs that are tuned right. For example, the other night, I took a Benz 280 in FIFTH GEAR? I swear...I kid you not. From 80 - 140...so WAYY out of my efficiency range (ie WRONG gear) just to prove a point to a friend. Then like 2 min later, I took the new SLK 350 in 4th after about a 1 second delay in 4th gear...also from 80 - 140. Then again, to prove a point to my friend, I went again against the SLK, but I dropped it to third. O M G I pulled like a bat outta hell. Didn't even look like he was racing lol...until he came up next to me and put his hands up saying "YOU GOT ME ... YOU GOT ME!" lol
