mine took a long time to break in cause my ceramic apex seals were 1 piece so it took a long time for it to start. now it starts in 2-3 cranks
/\ who did your motor |
guy i bought the car from, first time porting. it wasnt pretty. mine had hurley seals, started pretty easily, considering it had a piggy back.

darkphantom, where did the info come from? it looks like it was copied and pasted.
|
due to bridge ports overlap and raw fuel getting to the manifold...I've been in a car that spooled VERY fast

sh*t i didn't know either...do you want to elaborate on the mis-info?
|
Generally speaking, that info seems correct based on what i have seen. It's at least in the ballpark.
|
My half-bridge idles at 1300rpm. I hit 22psi by 5000rpm so its not too bad.
|
yeah BDC told me a bridge port hits harder and faster, and will spool small turbos so fast they run out of breath early
wish I would have looked into it earlier  |
so Rich are you going to line up again or open the checkbook and go single? I saw you browsing the for sale section ;)

this thread reminds me of that thread from a year or so back where the guy couldnt believe he lost to a built diesel.
hell even 500 hp isnt all that amazing now adays. allow me to find the video of the 700hp colt vs. 1200 hp supra |
the practial side of it is, where can you use a 500 hp car, unless you live in Wyoming? every city in this country is increasingly congested with cell phone toting soccer moms....350 in these cars is PLENTY
more people are going to end up dead pumping their ego I'll stick with the YZF-R1 in the peaceful mountains of NC, and go faster than any of these bloated 500 hp gas guzzling monsters for a whole lot less $$$....you spend all that money for a few precious seconds of running someone on a freeway (illegally), it's kind of dumb it's the age of excess |
You can use that kinda power in lots of the south. Texas and Oklahoma definitely.
Hell, even in NJ you can hit 140 certain highways at night when traffic is sparse...... |
hell yea jersey is the wild west, anything goes...very little law enforcement per the amount of people. ive hit 125 (in the sti) on the turnpike during rush hour :). you just have to dodge the potholes right rich :D
|
reliable source (mazda rx7 performance handbook)
ive seen were some say that 400hp on a rx7 is more than enough power. That was true back then. but now these amg 600hp mercedes, 510hp viper, 505hp vette, 400hp isnt enough. (thus the reason why i went with the bridge) |

wish I would have looked into it earlier  and i know PLENTY of spots around here where you can get up in the high speeds. i also know where there are some kick ass curvy roads. |

I could probably make the list alot longer, but im to lazy. And for the record its not even remotly hard to speed around here. The fastest I've ever gone in my car was on 485 in the middle of the day. Your on your bike would be more likely to end up dead because of a phone toting soccer mom or ego pumping than me in my FD. I'd take the FD over the bike anyday, nobody gives a shit how fast a bike is. Don't EVER compare a car to a bike. |
um, I can compare a car to a bike anytime I want :)
what mods do you have? FD? I'm here in Charlotte, we'll have to meet up |
btw, not many soccer moms where I ride :) as in, essentially none...almost no traffic at all (I don't keep the bike in Charlotte)

if I was a betting man, I'd put my money on GM before Ford
I can't think of one Ford vehicle I would even consider purchasing I'd buy a C6 Z06 in a minute, and several others |
cobra, lightning, f650, and the gt40 maybe an old gutted mustang for that sleeper look.
(im not a ford or chevy guy, im a mopar guy for the record) |
I'd drive a GT if they gave me one...I guess :)
|
