LS1 FD, boltons, intake, nitrous FTW

Singleturbo FD owner rode in my LS1 FD the other day (I rode in his as well). "That's a good kick." He said. All I have is exhaust and intake..

And yes I also loved his singleturbo machine, its just that reliability issue

No kidding? So you mean if you spend about $80k sticker more on a car, than you get better quality fit and finish? I may have to look into one of these "Porch 9-1-1" that you speak of

The Cobra is also much cheeper to modify and I am biased towards forced induction cars. Heads and cams and exhaust on a Vette will cost you 6 grand. I am already beating cars with those mods and have alot less invested. To do forced induction on a Vette you need to build the motor because it lacks forged internals, and your talking about big bucks there. I wanted something reliable that I could have fun with for not too much money.

Is your Eaton Ported? That's an awful lot of power to be making without the extra flow through your stock Heaton.

Stock 'ported' blower?...: I am sure you are aware of the gains you can make by porting your stock blower if you haven't already, the price is minimal.

I agree with you about the reliability factor of rx-7's. They basically suck, no matter what seals you are using. As much as a bad tank of gas can ruin your friggin day and bank account...even with pig rich safe tuning and timing. After a while you start to just get sick of it and the minuses outweigh the positives. I hope my NRS ceramic seals fix this reliability 'problem' otherwise its gone with the 7... Supposedly if an NRS seal breaks it doesn't hurt the housing. I'd rather have no weekend car than something that aggavates me.

i hear you both and agree to a certain extent. I especially think once u go single u open a can of worms and ruin the car quite frankly. the fd cant run 450 rwhp reliable. it will be more work then worth in my opinion. I love my rotary. In fact i have owned all three gens since i was 16yrs old. that is 14 yrs of rotary experience. BUT when my motor blows i think i am going ls1 conversion. Imagine 500rwhp reliable in a 2700 car. thats awesome!
So far though MY CAR has been more reliable than my honda daily driver has been. my car makes 360 rwhp and i have tracked and ran the car on the strip a bunch of times. Not to mention been running 15psi for 2-3 yrs.

That would have been the best way, you could have had the 7's looks, and had a faster car than the Cobra.
