Talking Murciélago Roadster Fun

After playing softball last night, my girlfriend an me were cruzin home at about 55 on a local interstate. I noticed a set of unusual HIDs approaching at normal speeds. Then all of a sudden whooooosh it goes by and nails the brakes (car pulls into his lane).

My girlfriend says wow catch up so I can see that car. New black Lambo, dealer tag from California but I could not see any markings. I am embarased to say I had to look it up online today to figure out what it was. The only distinguishing feature was the lack of metal above the windsheild - looks just sick. Apparently a similar car was in the movie Batman Returns - havn't see it yet.

Anyway he moved over to another lane and I toyed with him for a while in kind of heavy traffic. He got a clear shot and took off. I did not follow because my V1 was beeping. I saw him jam on the brakes only to reveal 5.0 at the end of a long straight away. I caught back up to him. He continued to toy with me by surging forward. My girlfriend asked if I could beet him. I replyed probably not but you never know unless you try. I put it in third gear, reduced my speed to just under 50. He surged again and I took off. He followed and could not over take me ~1 1/2 cars back, i shifted into fourth and only pushed it for about 5 seconds - I was already going way to fast and he made up about a car on the shift. He then proceeded to fly by me and give me the finger - nice guy.

Ultimately he would have dusted me if I would have kept going or if I were at a stop. I guess I won third gear and got to play with an exotic - so I win :->.

Why would you want reassurance - I was just sharing my experience with a very cool car. Believe whatever you want I have no real proof, i.e. video or pictures.

If you want to know all of my mods the majority of them are detailed on this board over the past 6 years with pictures - search. The short answer is the windsheild wiper arms are still factory - I did powder coat them though.

Alright, most people here can list their mods no matter how long they have been on the forum. At least tell us what turbo, catback, etc..you have. Just the basic stuff.

Damn, awfully defensive about some questions potential fans have about your car, aren't we?

Now that you posted the pictures its hard to figure out. The Gallardo convertible is not out yet. From the front they look the same. From the rear they are very different. I don't remember the tail pipes sticking up in the center. The top of the windshield was all glass - no metal that is what really caught my eye.

I know it was one of the first two based on the front but not sure about the back - don't remember the pipes.

I am not being defensive I just hate how everyone wants proof that you raced a nice car - I won 1.5 gears but ultimately I know I would loose.

The big stuff - race port pinned engine, Hybrid Turbo Gt35r in/T04 out, Greddy-front mount, Crooked twin coolers, 1680/890, Twinpower, PFC/Datalogit/Techedge, Moly axles, Tial BOV and Wastegate - running 17psi but it usually spikes to 19. 17-20 is the sweetspot for my turbo. Ow ya 3" dp, mp, cat - Greddy Extreme, no cats.

Yea, okay. The lambo driver does realize that after the race is finished. Trust me, do you seriously think that the lambo driver was thinking, "Well, I'm the guy with the lamborghini." The only thing he was thinking at that time of the race was, "Why in the hell can't my Lamborghini beat this little japanese sports car?" So the look that I am describing is the latter of the two.

one flaw to that train of thought...

everyone knows with enough money you can make any car beat anything. even lambo owners know that.

bottom line is this: most of us normal people buy cars that we spend money on to make as fast as we possibly (and financially) can. fortunately for a small few, they can buy a car that is already fast, rare, hand-made and well sought-after.

at the end of the day, how many people do you think would actually pick an RX-7 over an ultra-rare exotic?

if they lambo guy can spend that much for a car, imagine what he can spend on it.

Sorry, but while an exotic owner is IN THE PROCESS of being smoked, that is NOT going through their mind. They may think the whole "Well i have more money" idea later, but while they are losing they are most likely wondering what the other car has done to it and why they are losing.
