i dont consider a turboed rotary peaky.

In my experience torque means nothing.

also in my experience if u have a decent size turbo like a t-78 U HAVE TO BRAKE BOOST.

Compared to twin car or in this case a 427cid a t-78 on small dis is peaky. Torque means nothing? That is a flawed statement. Well maybe with your experience. lol

I don't think you can get that kind of hp at 14psi or 17 psi running high 9's afr. Get a real tune running 17psi and I think the outcome would be different.

I need to read this section more often. lol pure comedy

There's no doubt about it, C6 Z06's are beasts even in stock form. You need one hell of a setup in your FD to even think about running with one. And that is just in a straight line. They also have us beat in the tire and brakes department.

A friend of mine had a black one, wheels and windows blacked out as well... it looked HOT! Too bad it burnt down to the ground... lol engine fire.

I've run with 5 or six C6 Z06s on track, some modded, and they aren't THAT invinceable. I've run right down the straights with them.

Oh trust me, I have watched Fritz tango with a couple C6 Z06's at VIR and he held his own quite well. He is also a very talented driver in a well prepared FD.

Yup, but for the most part all "well prepped" means is bolting on the stuff that modern cars now come with, like titanium exhausts, big wheels/tires, better shocks etc., that stock vehicles didn't come with in '92. I'm still running a sequential twin turbo street car... and haven't nearly the seat time Fritz does.

Question rich AFRs & hp VS tq

^^ I was wondering about that. My wideband doesn't even read AFRs richer than 10.0:1.

Regarding the comments on hp VS tq: whichever car has a higher power/weight ratio at a given instant during an acceleration contest will be "winning" (pulling ahead of the other car) at that instant. Torque (at the wheels, depends on gearing & RPM) accelerates the car, but what really matters is how quickly that torque is being used to spin your tires--the power at the wheels. That's why you have to rev a rotary to the moon because it makes highest power way up top.

The way to settle this debate is to plot the displacement VS time of an FD and C6 Z on the same axes. I will do this sometime just for fun and post back. What I need is someones dyno graph data for a "worthy" (400 whp?) FD (data points, like from a dyno run file not just a picture) and also for the C6 Z... if anyone has ready access to that info, PM me. I'll do some searching on my own in the meantime

Now that I think about it what I said above it not 100% correct. Acceleration at an instant of time is going to depend on the engine torque, the power delivered by the motor is going to depend on engine torque (duh) and the speed at which it's delivered (duh)

If you look at the equations of motion, you'll see no direct dependence on engine power, while it's obvious that the torque delivered at the rear wheels is what provides the thrust required to accelerate the car... by definition, the motor power is a measure of the ability of the motor to use that torque to do work (measure of how quickly the car can get from point A to point B). That's why people use engine hp ratings to compare cars and to make predictions for 1/4 mile times and not motor torque.

Or something like that
