I'll start by admitting that the only way this could have happened is due to a bad driver. Having said that, here's my story. I was leaving campus yesterday afternoon when I saw a black RX8 pulling out infront of me. I passed him and gave him a wave and he responded by downshifting and flying by me. I caught up to the guy at a stop light and followed him for another mile or so. As I was just about to pass him I noticed he started pacing me. We were doing roughly 65 mph, so I downshifted to 3rd and got on it. He responded about a second later. I ran the car up to redline and shut it down. To my surprise I was about 20 yards ahead of him. So, the first thing that came to my mind was "WTF?!?!?!?" After about 10 seconds the guy pulled up next to me and asked me if I had a turbo. I told him no and that my only mods were a full exhaust and an intake. He claimed he heard a blowoff valve LOL, oh well.

BTW: Car is an S5 vert w/ @ 10k on a stock rebuild that breaths thru a racing beat header, and 2.5 inch piping w/ a catco Cat and high flow mufflers. I also have a K&N cone.

 

Maybe his car was an automatic? That or he really couldn't shift at all.

Either way, good kill.

 

I saw the car at school the next day and it is manual.

 

I saw a couple stock RX8 dynos at ~170whp.
