These were filmed saturday night.

The Neon in the vid (camera car) only had stage one, a few bolt-ons, and tuned by himself and he put down about 300hp and 350ft-lbs of torque. he just recently installed a wet nitrous kit (100 shot) but he is still tuning it. He is running slightly lower boost and less timing for the giggle gas.

There was supposed to be 2 races one from 40 and the other from 60.

for the second race i was in 3rd but we ended up slowing down to 50(on my speedo) talk about lag lol

The third run was from 60 so it didn't take as long to spool.

I raced the bike once with him also but I don't think he got that one on film. I lost to the bike by about 2 cars.

This little srt4 is pretty quick. And it does it all on the stock turbo.

sounds like you were going easy on him... that is def one quick SRT tho. Tell him that if he really wants to see how his car matches up to yours to race from a dig

I'm running a T04R with supporting mods with 15.5 psi

And I wasn't going easy on him lol that things just hauls a$$. I was just way out of my powerband on the second run.

 

So he was spraying I take it ? I ran one w/ the same stage 1 a while back and 75 shot and was getting him by two cars through 4th. They are impressive w/ a few bolt ons and a bit of NOS.

I strongly believe if it were "built" it would have put a way way way better fight even if it's Automatic - I've personally seen built all motor LS1 camaro's running 10's all day and keeping up with 550RWHP Supra's on the freeway.

I just found these mods for the "built Ls1" But i really don't think this is enough engine work to be considered fully built. What do you ls1 guys think?

Thanx, and yea it's dumped lol. people don't know what to think when it opens up next to them lol. And trust me that neon suprises A LOT of peaople. He gets so much crap about his car it isn't even funny. But that thing is nasty.

 

I think that shouldn't have happened, not with those mods at least. I do know a lot about SRT4's and Camaro's, sure the stall is holding him back a bit, but it shouldn't hold him back THAT bad..I don't know.

Any vids of the Camaro at idle? IMHO, the Camaro sounds like he has nothing but headers and true duals with both cutouts open. Good runs though.

Those camaros got raped. Almost looked like the white camaro couldn't even pull away from the traffic behind him... But it was clear from the 2 back to back runs the white camaro wasn't ready for the Beep B-Beep technique in the first run.

Nice 7 though, lets see it rape those slowass camaros now.

 

Saying it didnt take as long to spool on the third race? Proper brake boosting from a roll would have leaped you out there. I figured he was on spray w/ the result. Good stuff!

There was a lot of drama over these vid on the local forums so there will likey be more coming this weekend. Too many peopl get butt hurt when the neon races.

I will probably be racing some other comaros. not the ones in these videos for obvious reasons. But there are plenty healthy Comaros to play with around here.

And for what it's worth i think the white camaro was stock.

But like I said there will more than likely be some scores to settle this weekend and I'll see If I can get in on the fun.

nice vid, that ls1 is heads/cam not built BIG difference . but I woudl think it would still be putting out about 400rwhp. which is ok when the car is that heavy. I wish they changed the look of the neon. cause its damn fast and has great potential but it is so ugly. Its the only car thats decently fast that I would not drive. no matter what, your still driving a neon and I can't do that.

 

Get practicing brake boosting and you have a better edge. Post some more results. Good luck!

Trust me I'm no stranger to Brake boosting.(granted I could have done it harder on these runs but it's no biggy) I must not have explaned myself very well. The second race I was in 3rd gear from a 50 roll. BB won't do much If you are too low in the RPMS to make any decent power. On the 3rd race we actually went from about 60 so I was making more power at the higher RPM in 3rd. And the the Neon was spraying from the get go on my last two runs with him. And the 100 shot hits pretty hard so take that for what it's worth.
