ls1 vs ls2 fd, street tires and a 59* drag strip

hey guys. me and my buddy joe went to street legals at fontana speedway for the 1st time with our swaps. we both had street tires on, traction was a nightmare. he (red fd) was using 245/35/18s and i (blue fd) was on 295/30/18 ventus v12s. i ran a 13.2 and he ran a 13.4. he had heads cam header and 4.10 gears i had longtubes and 3.9 gears. it was a good day out there, i didnt see any 7s out there, swapped or otherwise. anyway, im hoping for a good 12 with a real tire and warmer weather.
the results were
r/t .005
60 2.327
mph 114.89
1/4 13.210

With some stickier tires and some practice you should get a decent 60 ft and a good solid low-mid 12 second run no problem. Nice vid

Damn gotta love a mildly modified v8 lol. Too muffled but sounds amazing still.

You should def see 12 with better tires and a better launch.

Us GTO guys are seeing mid 12s with I/H/E + tune no problem and we have almost 1000lbs on top of the FD's weight.

lol, i have a magnaflow 3" in dual 2.75 out muffler that i reverse mounted for a Y pipe, and then ive got a racing beat dual tip behind that. car is VERY quiet. id like to hide a cam behind the quietness . i believe it when you say i/h/e can nail a mid 12 in the GTO, i seen a bone stock base c6 do a mid 12 with just nt01s in the rear.

Good job.
