lost to a srt-4

well sometime ago when my TII was stock, only mod was a turbosmart bov i was coming back from work and it was pretty late, and i was just chilling and minding my own business when a black srt-4 passed me and cut in front of me and i was like this 'jackass is nuts' so i followed him and stuck behind him on a red light. i think he saw that i followed him caused he rev at me on the light, so i replied with my 13bt, i know it was on so when the light turns green he doesnt launch but he acelerated fast and i was behind him, but i couldn't keep up, i just saw the car going farther away lol i said to myself this 'sob is fast lol'. he kick my *** like for 6 car lenghts . later on i met him on the track cause hes a friend of my buddy lol what a surprise and he told me that he was running a mopar stage 1 i think so or something like that, and that he put 260whp at the dyno. not a surprise that he kicked my *** lol but overall it was fun to run against him even if he handed my *** . hope i find him one more time on the street cause is going to be a different story this time.

my brother with only intake and borla exhaust (no dp) made 240whp/260trq to the ground. im guessing he had an exhaust too because anyone who has done their homework on those cars know that having stages REQUIRES having atleast an exhaust in order to notice a difference. stage 1 is at 240whp/260trq, so like 21K95RX7 said, he's running a little more than that, my guess, full exhaust.

i think i need a little more than that to catch him, that srt-4 was fu**ing fast, i dont think that at 12 psi with stock turbo im going to beat him. right know i have put new mods to my TII, rb complete exhaust, microtech or megasquirt don't know yet but i have to choose one, 255lph walbro fuel pump, going to run 12 psi. i only need the ecu and on to the street i go.

Dodge quoted the wrong hp when they released it to the press I forgot what the number is but it's something like 230 to the wheels rather than the flywheel. Most car co. have it listed as engine hp. But my friend said that they dyno'ed it and it actually ran the listed number to the wheels. o_O wacky dodge. So on a stage one he could be doing close to 260+

Just remember that he paid for a car and only got a nice motor. If you want to take him easily and cheaply: LS1. If you want to beat him rotary style you better have a fat wallet because mod for mod he'll still be faster.

lol first of all youre crazy if im going to put a ls1 engine in my rx7, i hate 8 cylinders ive never like those cars the only american car that i would pay to have is the 1969 mustang shelby gt 500. and if i have to beat him rotary style i think i only need a to4 hybrid and a fmic and i should kick his *** pretty easy, at 14 psi ill destroy him, i love the rx7 cause of the engine it brings why do i want to put a v8 on my 7 . the fun of the rx7 is the rotary engine(that brap brap brap sound is priceless). im not being rude or anything bro but i just don't aprove on rx7's whit ls1's and thoes american swaps that paeolpe put on their 7, it just takes the rx7 name. i have seen the rotary engine in action and is way better than the ls1, sure the ls1 is cheaper but for me i don't see the fun of a 8 cylinder in my 7.

i own an srt4 and fc turbo. srt has mbc and replacement air filter with a modded stock air box. 13.6 @ 105 18psi. rx7 3in turbo back, cold air, rtec 1.5, 13.5 @ 106 @ 12psi with horrible wheel hop and bad rear struts. so yeah the srt is fast from the box. an exhaust is a waste on those cars. dyno proved that a 3 in turbo back does 1-2 hp @ the wheels on an srt. he is beatable but you need to either mod or race on the highway. the srt has mad torque really low (peak is like 2600 rpm) and you have nothing until you have boost. think 3 in turbo back, upgraded clutch, fuel pump, injectors, rtek 1.7 or better, cold air intake, preferably a front mount and good tires. hybrid turbo would be very helpful. good luck and know your enemy. the srt4 puts more hp @ the wheels stock than dodge rated @ the flywheel. their engines will support 500+hp @ the wheels with a stock block.

I know looks are subjective opinion but I just can't get over the looks of the SRT4s, sorry but I wouldn't be caught dead in that grocery getter.
