A losing kill? FD vs C5

I figured I could share this little story:

One day, I'm driving the FD down a 3-lane street which runs over a hill into an intersection about 1/2 mile away. I noticed a C5 that was getting kind of itchy but got caught at a red light one intersection back. A few moments later, I look up in the visor and notice the same car flying down the road trying to catch up with me. I pick up the pace a little and he's still coming in fast! We are the only two cars approaching the next intersection and I'm about to take a right.

The turn is one of those which takes a curved path rather than a 90deg bend, and I usually take this particular one pretty hard. There's 100% visibility and the lanes are still separated before they merge with other traffic. I do so and right when I reach the apex of the turn, the radar lights up. Just to be safe, I let off the gas and end up on the adjacent street at the posted speed limit (which was probably too fast anyway, but I maintain the speed to appear stable).

I'm assuming that the C5 saw no brakes on my part, and followed suit. He enters, exits and proceeds to do a fly-by (I did nothing as the radar was showing 8 out of 9 LEDs). After he passes me, a police cruiser waiting in traffic in the opposite direction turns on the light rack, rolls through the center ditch, races past me and pulls the vette over.

I guess he didn't have one.

Nice. As big a fan as I am of the C5's(friend owns an 00'), some of them just deserve that stuff for how big they think they are over everyone else. (Not all just some of the drivers I've met)

I really like the C5's. Too bad he got pulled over. Next time, he may not want to race, since he got a ticket this time. That's bad for both of you .
