little impressed at civic si

well this happened a couple hours ago, i was taking my car around my neighborhood just to get it warmed because it's been sitting on the garage for 2 weeks. while im enjoying my ride minding my own business i noticed a black 4 door civic si(2007 i think, the new model) hes coming in the opossite way and i look at him and he did 2, it was pretty clean, a little lowered and it seems it had konig helium wheels. anyways, i turn around to see what my car can do against this SI, normally if my car wouldn't be having the boost leak from hell it has it would've been an easier race. thanks to the boost leak from hell i have im only pushing 203whp on my TII so im thinking im in the same hp or maybe a little more than the si. wheel i follow him an i end up behind him, light change to green and he goes normally so seeing that he went normally i do the same and shifted to 2nd gear rapidly thinking he wasn't going to race, well after he has at least 1 and a half or 2 cars in front of me he wot so do i, i shifted to 3rd at 7000rpms and i wasn't gaining or losing any ground i was like wth, when i was at like 6000rpms i start to gain ground then shifted to 4th at 7000rpms and started reeling him good, when i was at his back door he let's of because there's a curve if not i would've past him good. then he get's at my side and i downshift to 3rd he wot first without any honk and i wot 2, on this run i was reeling him faster but he let's off fast when i was at his back door lol. anyways i know im doing a crappy whp on my TII, when i fixed my problem im supposed to be making 240whp or 250whp and ill look for him again but for now thanks to my boost leak from hell it was a close race. i usually don't race civics but this was a good oportunity to see what the civic si was capable off.

Man, the civics in us must be alot different to the ones here, my gf has a civic and it would stand no chance to a 200whp fc. How much power do the us ones put out, the aus ones are like 102kw at the fly

well this civic was capable, at least against a 200whp fc, althought after 3rd gear you begin to notice that the close transmission they have doesn't help them much.

The new Civic Si's run 0-60 in 7.2 and 1/4 in 15.1. Fast? No. Quick? Meh. Impressive? No.

I drove the Si's when I used to work for Honda. They're actually a fun car to drive.

well, the si it's not a freaking impressive car, i i would've been driving with my other turbo i would've smoke him but im saying that at least with a 200whp car there capable, my car is probably in the high 14's so if he has an intake that i think he had and maybe one or 2 things then he also has to be in the 14's so yea im only comparing not saying that the si is a fast incredible car lol.

My ~200whp TII runs about 6.5s 0-60 and 15.0s 0-100, I figure that must be low or mid 14's for the 1/4. I may also be squeezing a tad more out of it now compared to last week since I've been analyzing the power curve to find better shift points.

A turbo car will always "feel" faster than a non turbo car, unless you're driving a torquey v10 viper or some sort.

In this case, if it was kinda hot outside or the T2 wasnt running right, the civic would be faster.

My buddy has a new Civic Si, we lined them up and I destroyed it(bout 2 cars out of 2nd gear) And im just running a s5 Tii. And It has a 2in exhaust and the NA MAF. I know I know "playing with fire" or "dont do that" but still thats sad on Hondas part.

You outclass him in weight, HP, and torque. What did you expect?
