Well, on my ohter forum that i frequent, there is a guy who ahs owned an F50, a Diablo, and now owns a Viper. And he says that the Viper is a very reliable daily driver, due to its low compression and low RPMs. He also said that its the easiest of all the cars hes owned to drive around town, because of its piles of low end torque.

Isn't an RX-7 technically a mid-engine car since the engine is behind the front axle? Even if not, at least it handles like one.

I think the S2000 is also similar to the Rx-7s layout. The motor sits completely behind the front wheels.

I gave up driving gloves when I had my 323.

Isn't the new Vette going to be stock 400, then 500 in Z07 trim?

I haven't driven an FD or NSX so I cant really compare the two myself, but. This is the point, the one fact that the FD can't compete with, and you guys ignore it. HILARIOUS!!!

I think the FD is an amazing car, but you really cant compare it to anything that isn't rotary powered. If you want to compare it to something piston driven you should be comparing it to two strokes, the rotary is a lot closer to that set up then a 4 stroke.

It also must be noted that were getting shorted out of higher performance NSX models here, (Type-S, Type-S Zero, Type-R). But then I guess we should be happy were getting them here, There aren't nearly enough performance Japanese cars in the states.

Don't forget about the polar moment of inertia. Rear-mid puts your *** and engine next to each other, front-mid has your legs stretched out between the two.

DamonB isn't the only MB FD + trailer racer out there! I've been in a few races with the trailer on. I have a friend with a C5 that seems to be into trailer racing, too.

How much of the time is a Rotary engines displacement used for combustion power, unless im mistaken I believe its alot higher then a 4 stroke.

Talking

First-off, VERY nice kill DamonB.

Secondly NSX1 is definitely a whiney li'l wannabe. The specs speak for themselves FD = price 4 POWER, NSX = Wannabe Ferrari driver. $80K for a car with pretty much the same spec!?!?! Reckon U'd hafta be on drugs not to choose the FD But hey, each to their own huh??

Gime that kinda $$ I'll just go for the last production model FD & tweek till the $ waz gone!

(Geeze I cain't believe I just read all nine pages of this thread. Batman, U right RX7Club has the tech info AND entertainment TOO!!! )

Rotary engine or not, its still a car. I don't see why the engine disqualifies it from the rest of the competition (some better, some worse). *shrug*
