Killed a G35 Coupe:) Got a ticket doing it:(

On the interstate tonight I passed a nice looking red Infinity G35 coupe, and I make a comment to my passenger about how I wouldn't mind having one of those, and, ironically, he was like "Would that take the 7?" I was like "No way, but they're still pretty pimp!" (Honestly I didn't know if it would take me or not, but I was soon to find out.)
So after I pass the guy and am not really thinking about it anymore, pretty soon he comes up and gets next to me, and I'm trying to figure out if he wants to run and Jim (my passenger) said he looked like he wanted to go. So we do 3 runs from 80 or 90 up to either 110 or 120. First run was pretty close, but if I recall correctly I took him by about 1 car. The 2nd run, he was still behind and he gains momentum before I knew we were racing, and I downshift and keep him pretty much even for a while (remember, he has more momentum because he started before me), and then when I had him at the same speed and it was even, he started to pull on me a little at about 115 (this is the one that went to 120 or a little more cause it was so close). The 3rd run was about the same as the 1st- I took him. When I thought the fun was over, he pulled up and we rolled down our windows, and he said he wanted a 50 mph roll (and we all know what the 7 does in 3rd gear at 50 mph) so we got even at 50 and we did the 3 honks, it was a pretty good start, he got a little bit of a jump, but it was not long before the car lengths were racking up. Then I jam on the brakes when I see the State Troopers in the median, but it was too late. 103 in a 70.

Aww, come on guys! Can't I at least get a "nice kill"? I thought the G35 was faster than that.

nope, G35's are faster and have more power. even though they are based on the same engine (i think) the G35's are still faster. My friend raced his stock G35 against a 350Z and beat it, by maybe 2 cars?

not to be a stickler...

G35,350z both run the VQ30DE V6 engine same engine same chassy except the 350z is lighter....and has a shorter minutely stubbier wheel base...due to the fact they enlarged the wheelbase for the G35 for the back seats...the wider track for the luxury deal....stock for stock the 350 is supposed to be faster i would reckon ur buddy won because the other guy cant drive....unless they made new revisions but when i last checked (when i walked into a nissian dealership and asked....) just my .75cents..

I guess I should have told you not to speed between Nashville and the 'Boro without detection/jamming devices. The staties always camp in the median just about halfway inbetween.

Good Kill though!

Yep. I sure found that out the hard way! Aren't jamming devices illegal?

Yeah, there were 2 cops in the median, and I saw another cop a couple hundred yards behind me when I was stopped, and I assumed he got it too, but Jim said he thought he saw the g35 go by and keep going. And there were some other people with us (driving different cars) that were behind us and they said they didn't see anyone pulled over but me. So I dunno, I guess he got away.
Dammit.

Well, he's almost correct- its acctually the VQ35DE ( the "35" indicates engine displasement, so to speak, hence the 35 in the 350Z and G35. Its been that way with the Z cars from the beginning. From the L24/L26/L28's of 240Z/260Z/280Z's, to the VG30 of the 300ZX's.)

the g35 coupe's are faster. when i worked at infiniti we would always race our g35's we were doing pdi's on against the 350z guys right down the street doing their pdi's. g35 would always win... especially the automatics (which are faster than the 6spd's).
