Used to give me all this crap about how the FD was a copy of the C5, but it will never be a vette... Imagine my surprise, finding out that the 7 yr old chassis (1989-1990) was designed/copied after the C5(1996)! My bad!

But you have to admit... An RX7 that is 12+ yrs old it still hangs with a lot of the newer, more advanced ones... Stock vs a lot of the "fast" cars today and it still does pretty damn good. Throw a few parts on... different story altogether.

I severely hope that by the time I start to come back over to the states a new 7 will be coming out. Ive got till Nov 2007...
Good post. Just goes to show every car group has dumbass owners.

You can't wait to be owned by one? It takes just basic boltons to hang with or take a C5.

Maybe I don't know enough about V8s, I would have thought that aerodynamics and hp to weight ratio plays more of a factor than how many cylinders you have. I'll tell my Supra buddies they need to do V10 swaps.
Look the point is you came in here and made an ******* comment to the guy who posted. He never even said anything about an FD being better than a C6, he just posted a kill story! I like Vettes a lot but there's no reason to come in here and be an ******* for no good reason. This is a pointless conversation needlessly started by you. Grow up.

I feel sorry for the c6 owner. He thought after paying 50 grand, his vette off the showroom floor, would be the king of the hill on the street.

I would've been sick to my stomack seeing the FD tail lights, even at 160mph.

Its comments like that... that brings vette trolls in here...

personally i dont feel sorry for the C6 owner.. if i owned a c6 i would be happy.. thats a 50k car... so he got be by a modified FD... so what... i would just send the C6 to LPE for some "upgrades" and setup a race with that FD again

btw.. I used to own an FD currently looking for a z06

Hey someone please post some pics of 12+ year old vettes! lol

I get on a few forums including NSX, Miata and Supra but nothing compares to the un aging design of the FD even after over 12 years. I cant imagine what it must of been like over 12 years ago. What else was there? Must of sucked.

Yeah, that's a geniune 99 front end. I guess he's getting an RX-7 laser cut tag to cover that.

Hey.. I'm not fond of the plateholder either.. But w/ a custom tag (one that does not drape over the airway) , I think it is better than the "smiley" 99 end w/ no plate..Again just my opinion.. I dont dislike the others just preferred this one.. Still waiting on my tag..Thanks for compliments..

Peter, I'd imagine you'ld be up for an FD with 'bolt-ons" assuming you had a small breakfast that is... Folks, Peter is a good guy, just a little 'Vette crazy, that's all.

If that's true, cool. But it sure doesn't seem like that from the original post and those following. Sounds a little contrived...but whatever....

BTW your C5 is beautiful (if that's yours).

I would hardly call the RX7 an economy car.

Look at car prices in 1993 not in perspective of what you can get one for now.

Mazda RX7~ $32000 in 1993. In todays dollars you are way over the msrp of the new vette.
