Just got rocked by a new m5
I was sitting at a stop light, and two lanes to the left of me was sitting a m5, I didt know it was their. The light turns green and I go about my everyday driving, and I hear something fly by me and its a brand new green m5. So I catch up, my mistake, it would of been closer from a dig since the m5 is alot heavier. So we go from a 40 roll and he flys by me like im standing still at 11psi. He must of beat me by 5 to 6 car lengths. Damn, that motor sounded AMAZING, it was some 16yr old kid, his dad owns evan oil company, he has that and alot of other cars. In conclusion dont race an m5 unless you have some serious power. I would say im at 285whp and it wasnt even close. I wasnt expecting a win but wasnt expecting an all out slaughter either

what other power mods do you have besides the ones in your sig? i wouldn't think you would have 285 from those. plus doesnt verical door kit add quite abit of weight along with your 18's, and sideskirts?

Actually if you have a less restrictive intercooler, ie More efficient CFM's, then you can make more power at the same boost level. When I added mine I made more than 20rwhp at the stock 10psi ( the boost went up to 11+ and car was hitting boost limiter so I had to turn the boost down since it was flowing more than the stock one ) . It might have to do with the turbos running less restrictive, thus producing less heat which in turn means a more dense O2 content even before the intercooler, but then again I'm no thermodynamics expert.

The new M5s are nice, but I'm still not too impressed with their weight and torque output. The upcoming E63 AMG is going to be something though...meaning the entire performance sedan market is going to be producing some serious competition.

Theres a Dinan M5 I've seen on the way to work almost every day of the last couple weeks. He's always going heavy on the throttle, and that thing sounds mean. I can't wait till I get my car back from A-spec and I see that guy on the street. Its gonna be on! I'm gonna try to get it on video too.
I'll be pushing well over your ~285 HP so it should be much more interesting.
