i hate SRT-4's.....

i was in NH somewhere going to get some parts for my friends car from this guy. anyways i revved it right next to him just because i was bored and i knew it was faster than me. anyways he swapped over a lane and followed me. i was like wow this guy is gonna own me. oh well ill play along. im getting onto the highway with him right behind me. (its raining out) i accelerate hard in second and when i get to my powerband my back end starts sliding around. i had to let off and the neon being FWD just flies by and blows off right as he does...I HATE NEONS.

Not to be an ***, but it sounds to me like you instigated it. Also, its somewhat dangerous to punch it with wet roads.

I'm curious though, how do you know its faster than you?

I'm assuming his T2 is stock or close to it, if thats the case, i doubt he's breaking 200 rwhp...the Srt makes way more power and torque than that.

As for the wet roads, never a good idea to push it...however if you get wider tires back there you might get away with it(use your head though!)

SRT-4s probably hate our asses too! lol

srt4 = 250 hp and 13.5 1/4
not bad considering they're stock.

there's a sh*t load of them out here picking on people left and right, i just ignore them and think of them as the new " civic si, wrx, etc" new kid on the block wants to blend in..

Stock for stock SRT-4 is roughly with a FD in a straight line. Both are traction limited and run flat 14s or high 13s depending on driver skill, conditions, and tires. Its more powerful, but heavier and not as aerodynamic, and front drive. If you get pissy at me comparing a FD to a SRT-4, well, too bad - they ARE in a straight line! Deal with it!

WHP is like, 230 or so. Ive even seen 240 on a chassis dynamometer (at flyin' miata, if you disagree with their dyno results take it up with them ) and that implies more hp than 250. But I dont see then running 13.5s, lol, unless I just havent been paying enough attention.

People like to **** on them all the time because its based off of a neon (just like the STi is an imprezza and the Evo is a friggin' LANCER ) but the only thing Id really agree on bitching on them about is the way a lot of their drivers are, and that its a front drive chassis. At really high power they need wheeliebars to get hookup or they literally lift off their drive wheels from hard acceleration. And these cars ARENT slouches - Ive seen them trap the in the 14s but break 100 mph.

So, it wont be a track car like a FD or a FC, but having a torsen LSD in the 04+ years its a fun "sporty car" or autocrosser, and isnt a slouch for drags, but they really need to get some stiffer rear springs and shocks on compression to prevent it from leaning back off the front wheels, or someone make some kind of airbag kit to rake it forwards to get rid of those traction woes.

No doubt they can be! But, any front drive car has ultimate limits of what it can do. Front drive, nose heavy cars can only go so far with giant tires and a torsen :P

Now, I wont bash on the ultimate limits of a front drive car too badly, because they arent so low that the average street car (or street driver) would notice. Last I checked at the SCC Mag's Time attack challenge the Turbo Sentra there beat the pants off of a NSX god that made my day to read!

Theyre not AWD, not one of em. Evos and WRXs are AWD though :P.

Still doesnt change the fact that a SRT-4 is a torquey 240 whp car with only 2900 lbs curbweight

50 bucks he's posting something along the lines of this on the srt4 forums:

"So, some idiot in an rx7 starts revving on me in the rain, so I oblige. He takes off and I start laughing as he thinks he has a chance. Then I take off and blow right past him pulling like 20 cars. As I was passing him I saw him losing control and almost crash, lol what a horrible car. The srt4 never loses, damn we're awesome."
