Sell the Firebird and buy an FD. I got mine for 6,000 bucks.

...You might wanna keep that LT1 for later, though.

I've been an FD owner for almost 9 years and I still love my car.

No ive never raced an fd in my formula, ive only seen 3 around here in 2 years, i did however race one about 8 months ago when i had my 94 mustang GT, and it pulled about a buslength on me from 50 to 75, i just really really want one, im not gonna lie it would take one hell of an FD, to beat this formula, about 450bhp and 475btq with 4.10s, but id gladly trade it for a 350rwhp 7....

that 350rwhp FD would annihilate your Fbird. and good luck in your search, just be prepared to give up all your money and 90% of your soul.

annihilate is a strong word, im guessing that id make about 50-55morerwhp and i prolly weigh about 4-5hundred more lbs, so it should be fairly close from a 15-120 roll....or 35-120...

^^ don't go to college.

Spend your time getting your education, and your money on beer, spring break(s), and getting laid.

The FD will be here 4 years from now when you graduate and can actually spend the money to maintain and mod correctly without having to sacrifice anything other than $$.

Honestly I wish I was there. Though the FD is an impractical money pit , if I got rid of it I would end up getting another.

The GF can't wait till I get something else... ha ha ain't happening anytime soon though.

I dunno why everyone calls them money pits, I haven't had to spend money on anything besides upgrades I've wanted in the past four years.

Well, I'll tell you something, this is no longer a sports car . . . it's a quest! It's a quest for fun! I'm gonna have fun, and you're gonna have fun! We're all gonna have so much fu**ing fun we'll need plastic surgery to remove our Goddamn smiles! You'll be whistling Zip-a-dee-doo-da out of your a**holes!

I don't know how many miles you put on your car but I drive mine all of the time and have put 100k on it.

But me:
well rebuilt engine for one. Boost problems due to age, rebuilt turbos, fifth gear synchro, pillow ball bushings, OMP (<-- check the price on that baby) and all of the nick nacks that gets old and must be replaced. Most parts other than performance upgrades come at higher than the average price tag due to low production numbers of the FD (lack of non oem replacement parts, hence the price of an OEM OMP ). Typically a rotary mechanic charges more $$ than your average joe mechanic.

all that qualifies this car as a money pit don't ya think?

One time costs don't count, once they're done you'll be trouble free for a long time. Hopefully I'll just have fluid changes for the next eight years.

i just bought my first FD after about 5 years of waiting. Im glad i did though because just like they said above now I can afford to drive it maintain it and modify it the way i want and the way it deserves. I not only just bought my FD I bought all the relibility modds and aftermarket supporting modds to put on it when it gets out of the body shop it went straight to. And I havent even got to drive it yet.
