nuvolari...that is great and going in my sig.
and to the OP, assuming standard 15% drivetrain loss....450x15%=67.5 450-67.5=382.5
382.5rwhp@ 3250lbs vs 350rwhp@2700lbs 32hp to compensate 550lbs?
maybe not annihilate...but i still dont think you would have any chance

1: 7.80 in the 1/8 is low 14s/high 13s in the 1/4(unless you have a big turbo and are having spool issues or something, but for a throaty V8, you won't have that problem); FDs run mid-high 13s stock....stock.
2: to get a 350rwhp(which is very obtainable) you'd need to open the exhaust-- DP, hf-cat or mp, catback--in addition to other things. these parts weigh considerably less than stock. so much so that an aftermarket turbo-back exhaust setup could very well be considered a weight reduction.
3: totally stock FDs weigh various ammounts, but base and R1 models weight ~2800lbs. To my knowledge, firebirds weigh more than that with the motor out. Something in the ballpark of 3600lbs stock?
4: 350rwhp FD is looking to be in the mid-high 11s with a good driver...
5: Save your money. you are in high school, you have a relatively reliable performance car, you are going to have years ahead of you when you won't be able to afford an FD. Remember, the cheapest part of RX-7 ownership is the initial purchase of a car. Like any high end sports car, parts are expencive and break often.

You seem like a pretty cool guy and I checked the site and that would put your nitous time at about 12.2 in the 1/4. And with that 60ft i'd say you were at least on a decent DR but probably slicks.
My bolt on FD( about 300hp) on balding street tires ran a 9.0@84 in the 1/8th with a craptastic 2.3 60 ft. that was a VERY crappy run (13.6 @107) now plug your 8.6 run in that calculator and you are only running 13.5... my point is a 300 hp FD with the driver mod would easily run deep into the 13's on street tires.
Add another 50 hp and some sticky tires like the ones you run and that same FD is gonna run deep into the 12's(high 11's) just like your nitrous times. I would deffinately not call that an easy win for the 7 but a win none-the-less. BTW i don't put much stock in those calculators.......to many un-named factors and also, FDs come stock with 4.10's

With my setup (streetport, small single 13psi, right around 350 wheel) , on slicks i was running consitent 7.5ish @93-94 mph traps 1/8's, with 1.61-1.65 60fts...with 11.87 at 116mph 1/4's
With the PT67 i have now, i wont have much problems touching 10's on relatively low boost this spring
and IMHO, those who think rx7's are money pits, are very much wrong, learn to do the work yourself and dont buy "packages", peice the things you need,
Hell on the powerplant in my car , i spent a total of around 1600 total, $1100 for the new Haltech E8 and $500 to fully build my engine, street ported with 9.7 rotors. And i beat the **** out of that engine this full last year at the track and street and still have 105-110psi on all rotor faces
Heck the rearend is the tiny stock NA LSD unit, and that lasted on 1.60 launches with slicks from a 6.5k clutch rideout
Not trying to call anyone out. just my O

yeah, the FD is more like an addiction rather than a car, I've always loved the cars I've owned (modded civic, then stock mustang gt, then modded impreza, now modded FD, but this car is something different, it's like an obsession. And you always feel like you need to always keep doing things to it to make it just that much better. It's like putting in your donations to the rotary gods to make them smile at you, but when the car sings, you can't stop smiling all the way home. And the looks you get when open the car up, it's like no one on the road expects the car to take off like it, I get stares from guys in porsches and corvettes all the time, even one guy in an elise almost ran off the road turning his head back to see my badging to find out what kind of car it was. It's friggin great......... This car is like sex.........

Yeah, I'm so in love with my FD. I've only had it for a little over two years, but at this point I can't see EVER getting rid of it. I guess it would change once I had a family, but we'll see. It's given me a few problems but nothing too big. I bought a house with a 2 car garage so both my cars would have a home, but like I jackass I don't take good enough care of the house and recently realized I should have bought a garage that isn't being used anymore, that's all I really need, haha.
