I beat a modded E36 with a stock N/A
He stalled twice haha
I was on the road and this guy with a modded E36 I think M3 it was debadged so I wasn't 100% sure. But it looked like one but it could just be a body kit. Well anyways I see the guy driving on the road a few days earlier at a stop sign and he was checking out my car, and gave me a thumbs up (at that time he was driving some old accord or integra or something I'm not sure I don't remember).
anyways I was driving around San jose because I wanted to know more about the city, and I see an E36 pull next to me at a red light. It didn't sound like an E36 because his exhaust sound like a ricer not the low Bimmer exhaust noise, it just sounded really loud. the guy says "nice car, I always wanted an Rx7" then I said "oh thanks" I didn't recognize him at first till he mentioned seeing my car a few days earlier. He was then commenting me on how clean my FC looked since he hasn't seen many FC's this clean. We were talking for a minute and I think we missed our green light but there wern't any cars behind us. And I remember him driving an accord or some other old late 80's early 90's sedan or coupe. But maybe I was thinking of someone else.
Anyways he reved his engine and I reved mine. So I was gonna race him. I knew I had no chance unless this guy was riding a 318i but I doubted it from the sound of his engine but his exhaust did sound ricey. Well then when it turns green and we're off.....well at least I am. I first thought "Oh crap did I run a red light!" then I realize "No it had to be green and maybe he didn't see it turn green" Then I realize that the guy stalled. I couldn't believe it. Anyways I drive for like 2 minutes and I hit another red light and then he's next to me again. I ask him "oh what happened" and he's like "oh man I just started to learn stick on my brothers car and I stalled" I then started laughing at him and then he wanted to race again, and what do you know he stalls again.
I met with him one more time and then he gets off the line but when he shifted into second I heard the worst sound ever. I could hear his gear grind going into second. it was loud, like if it were coming from my car. But he still passed me and drove off. I wanted to stay next to him and see him drive more but At that time I was lost in SJ already so it took a while for me to find out how to get back home but it was funny.

If it had a higher pitch, it was probably a 318 or 325. Were the bumpers and side skirts body color? If they weren't, it means non-M3. As you said, you wouldn't be able to take it unless it was a 318 or 325, even if he could drive stick.
Do you mean M3 or E39 or E60 M5?
