Gxl vs Audi A6 2.something ltr.

Last night I was heading back to Asheville on I26. I'm in the fast lane doing 80ish and some car comes flying up in the passenger lane, oooh a silver Audi. He cuts me off but I can't see what model Audi it is. I can just make out a 6 on the left rear badge and 2.something on the right. - I tried to look up some info on this car but there were a couple 2.something ltr models. a 2.8 v6NA and a 2.7 v6T.

Anyway I'm about a car behind him going 85 when the car in front of him gets over to the right lane. I see the Audi jolt a bit and I drop the into 4th. He doesn't gain any ground on me.

More traffic... 5 miles later same scenario....

This time I just waited in 4th gear maybe half a car behind him. When the lane opened up he went for it. He pulled a car right off but by 110-120 I had to brake so I wouldn't rear end him.

He moves into the right lane, (70ish now with an upcoming curve a good distance away) we go one last time. I pull over a car length on him by 90 and continue through the curve. The Audi tried to stay with me but dropped to about 2 cars through the end of the curve. The Audi stayed in the slow lane and wouldn't get next to me again.

woo hoo

89 gxl
full exhaust
manual rack
some interior weight removal.

If the car was a 2.7t it would have smoked the 89 GLX. 2.8 NA don't know. I had a hard time beating one (2.7t) in my friends 02 Z28. Those things are pretty quick. Good kill.

Yea, my friends dad just got a 2.7T and they are pretty quik. You defianately feel the turbo kick in that car if you have it in sports mode.

Yeah, you definitely raced a 2.8, and a tip at that. Good kill though

2.7t has 250 hp. The 2.8 has 172 to 182hp, depending if it was a 12v or 24v engine. (Come to think of it, they may have only used the 12v in the older style A6, pre '97 or '98) I think the newer NA's have a 3.0 that puts down like 210. Now you get into the 4.2 good luck. . .

I'm suprised you gained on him at higher speeds; Audis generally run better from about 80 on.
