Looks like he brakeboosted in both races and you got out of the powerband into 3rd during the first race.
In the second race, it looks like you were just lagging in 3rd while he was shifting away.
He was probably a better driver than you.
You shoulda took him. Idk why he walked from you.

your car did not look like it was driving the way it should have been, What gear were you starting in?
Just watching your rpm's, My stock twins @ 12 psi seem to go threw the rpm's faster then yours.
2nd video starting at 4k? Tsk tsk.
brake boosting at 6k RPM should make you take off similarly.

Either your car isn't currently making the power it did when it dynod, the Sti is making a hell of a lot more than 400RWHP, or youre doing something seriously wrong with your driving. I have huge respect for what the STis can do, but with comparable power you should have walked one.

The first video i started in Second, Brake boosting and as soon as i let off the brake i lost traction and that race was DONE....
Second Race: I have absolutly no excuse for and figure the boost leak could be to blame...In any case im embarrased and will give a much better shot this week.

Wow, I didn't know there were too many modded sevens here in the central valley, much less an FD. My TII is the only turbo seven I've seen over here in Tulare. Good runs, you'll get him next time!

I have to agree with above posts. you should of walked him. STI's/Evo's, awd in general do not do good on a roll. ah, but from a dig i would believe he'll get you.
those numbers seems about right from a GT30r STI.
do you happen to have pics of your friend STI? he may be in the forums and would like to see who he is

I looked at the video and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what you were doing.... anyway on both runs the sti pulled away from you at first getting quite a lead, but as the race continued the gap stopped increasing entirely. If i didn't know any better I'd say you have a really laggy setup...
Come on guys stop being so literal. Given that this was a roll race it's safe to assume that the poster's comment was meant to give a reference of what a 400 WHP FD can do. Of course there's a bunch of things that come into play when actually trying to do a timed 1/4 from a dead stop. Driver, tires, suspension, HP... But like I said this was roll race

I did in fact have a large boost leak at the greddy elbow, Ive fixed that and changed the plugs and will be racing again this weekend. However I will say that Steve Kan Tuned to car for 17psi and Im only up to 15 on my defi gauge.
I will be datalogging to try and troubleshoot the issue

There has to be something wrong with your fd or the dyno numbers of one of you two are off. Racing an sti at lower speeds sucks because the gears are so close, so you are continuously shifting...but I guess it didnt matter since you were spinning tires.
