I like the zo6 too but I like the fd's uniqueness and looks, seems like every z06 I see a 40 year old lady is driving(too many of them) but they are great car's none the less.

Its actually in the middle of its stage two modding, I just threw the perrin catless dp on. I have apexi catback and getting it tuned this week on my day off.

in the fd's defense it is a much better example of a rotary as far as performance than the fb....so get both fd and z06

i am the owner of the sti..i can say the rx7 is making the power he claims because the first few runs we did he was spinning his tires from a 45mph rool...takes allot to spin 10 inch tires, but anyways the boost leak was not discovered till after the last run...we ran about 5 times from 45mph to 130mph, i also race a 50trim turbo civic that night from a 50mph roll to 130 and walk him by 7 cars..
he is a vid of me running a srt4 that runs 12 sec 1/4 mile and traps 109..and i was not brake boosting

Ill settle this.

Sti owner. Did you choose MPH and RPM.. and he match your speed at 45 mph for the race correct? Did you choose rolling speed and rpms in all the races?

Did the rx7 get to pick gear/mph/rpm once?

I say let the 7 get his roll from third gear and let the rx7 choose mph.

i wanted to go from a dig at first because ken(gt35r rx7) beat a gt30r evo before me from a roll but ken didnt want to run from a dig because he didnt think he had a chance of winning so i pick the roll which was 45mph and ken agreed to it... all the races i started about a fender back because of my six speed tranny and i was brake boosting for all the runs...i was in 3rd and ken i believe 2nd...his car is by no means slow...we ran to 130mph which my car was faster to but any higher speed and i believe he would have catch me but how many people race to 160mph ?

Yes I had a boost leak, However Thats now fixed and im fairly certain Dwayne would still walk me....My car isnt making full bost right now but ill be meeting up with people here in Seattle tomorrow and going into Atkins to do some troubleshooting.

i do think you are a bit down on power in your fd like you said with that boost leak. looks like you were around 330-340whp there. he did get you on the brake boost where he jumped out 2 cars then you could see you guys level off. if you were at 390whp you would have made him look silly.

here is a run with my +/-340whp stock turbo evo vs. a 35r sti. the sti just doesnt have the top end pull. i have spoke with dent sport about that and they said the flow on the heads hold back the sti on long pulls.

first run i got him good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpzjy41RZLc

2nd run i gave him the jump and let out in 5th you can see a solid pull when we were side by side.

u r another typical evo owner...on the stock turbo the sti top end is not that great just like any stock turbo sti dyno graph would show..i can tell you no stock turbo 340whp evo will beat a well tune gt35r sti, i will post my dyno graph my car gets to 395whp around 4300 rpms and pulls 395whp all the way to redline...i guess if the sti's have no top end i should not have beaten that gt35r(bigger than gt30r) evo last weekend like i did...if you dont know what your talking about dont post anything...and the sti stock heads are way better than the evo's.... maybe ken could shime inhere because he did race a gt30r evo before me and he can tell you himself if it was faster than my gt30r sti on a completely stock motor...iwhere do you live.. i would like you give my gt30r sti with no top end a shot at your 340whp stock turbo evo....lets see who has no top end..

thanks ken, my car is making good power and i guess its hard for some people to believe... i walk that 50trim turbo civic that was bullying everyone around town then i walk a gt35r evo... so i guess that fact that i out ran you to 130mph is only because of your boost leak, like i said before if we were to go any faster it would have been your race just because of the weight difference...but your car is still the clean and i have allot of respect for it..... by the way my car made more power than what the tuner normally see on his dyno with my setup...i was told by one of the guys at the shop i will probably get about 370whp on pump but the car made 405whp@ 22psi but i ask my tuner to pull it down a little since i was on pump gas on the stock block...by the way my car made 485whp on c16 @27psi and another sti that made 470whp on the same dyno went 10.85@130 in the 1/4 mile...also on the stock motor which have no topend....according to someone on here

first off dont tell me where to post. the stis have NO TOP END. whats the big deal? the guy from the first video got out on him really well and thats why the rx7 lost plus he was down on power. if you were local i would smoke you with my evo up top just to shut you up. oh and fyi a dyno sheet means absolutly nothing at all go to the track down the drag strip and post your MPH.

a 30r sti is not fast even on 25psi+. fastest sti around here had a 2.65 stroker running a fully tuned 35r at 26psi made over 500whp and he LOST to a head/cam camaro by 2-3 car lengths multiple times. they were close until about 90 then it was over.

also just so you know dent sport garage is a well known speed shop in MA the specializes in subby and mistu's. they personally told me why the sti is weaker up top. i was just sharing what they told me.

bottom line proof is right there what i posted i pulled him through the gear plain and simple. he is going to tune it for 24psi on his 35r and im gonna run race fuel on 30psi stock turbo. i bet it will be a close run once again. and if you beat a upgraded turbo evo he doesnt know how to drive because i would pull on you stock turbod.

the sti in the videos is tito sti which have a gt35r but was @24psi at the time and almost all the cars he race had a better power to weight ratio...and here is the same sti (tito gt35r @27psi)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8d1GGO06lE
here is a vid of a gt35r sti vs evo's with upgraded turbos...hope you see the top end pull of the weak sti

check out this gt35r sti vs gt35r evo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bt6Lfhs_bM
and since you beat a gt35r sti on your stock turbo here is a vid of a stock turbo evo on high boost vs a gt35r sti

and a gt30r sti vs built ss

by the way i never heard of the shop your talking about...maybe the guys around your area dont know how tune sti's because i can tell you people have allot of respect for them out here in cali as well as evo's...i think you just havnt sean a well tune sti yet...
just for sh*t.. check out this vid of a gt35r evo vs a small 20g sti....evo bearly wins with such a bigger turbo, but this is in cali where evo and sti's rule the streets..
