i've made clear my mods many times, its even in my sig. I have full exhaust. I made 300whp, nothing earth shattering.

You also said you cooked a piston ring with a different tune. Sounds like more than just an exhaust to me.

How do you plan on proving the other person wrong? He said the max speed they could get a "stock" STI to was 164mph.

A stock STI theoretically shouldn't be able to pass 155mph due to being electronically limited, however with that removed(with a tune), the speed at redline in 6th gear is 176mph.

What does the power curve look like at 7000K rpm?

I don't think a stock STI has enough bottom end to hit 170+ without a significant tailwind and going downhill. Tq peak is right around 2500-3000 rpm, right? goes steadily downhill from there and by 7000 RPM you have as much TQ as you did at 1000 RPM. Combine that with diminishing HP numbers and aerodynamic drag increasing exponentially with speed i'd venture to guess that it's going to top out under 170. up the boost and retune for a little more TQ up top and you might be able to get there but it's going to push the turbo to its limit.

You are dreaming if you think a stock STi will hit 170 mph.
No way on this earth. Maybe if you dropped it out of a plane?

I never said a stock STI could hit 170mph, I said they top out at 176 @ 7000rpm in 6th.

Which is totally theoretical, it is only saying that the gearing is sufficient. The power and aerodynamics may make it totally improbable. Not that my car will do 176 either!!

People have been past 7000RPM in 6th gear.

I myself have gone to 6700rpm in 6th, so that's about 170mph, and I only shut down because of an approaching corner.

terminal velocity. and i do agree on the turning thing. thats what sold me on rx7s.

test drove a brand new 05 STI, had something like 80 miles on it. a week before that i had test driven a 93 rx7 with 140k on the clock and blown turbos.

needless to say, i now have an FD

I would much rather go from PROVEN experaince, than some ******* bullshit mathematics.

Also, ill go with the proven facts of STI's wining natinal championships for the past 2 years.

but hey, i bet google knew that too right?

You better have alot more than full exhaust to pull 300whp... I would think a custom tune and turbo back exhaust might do it though!
