Last time I went to the track, there was a modded FE running high 15's. I'm sure the driver may have had something to do with it, but couldn't that have been the case in this scenario?

If it's auto who cares? My stock 6-speed walks on FCs all day, which I relish the "WTF" face from all the kids. I couldn't tell from your post if you drove an FC or FD. In that case, I just had an FD owner admit that he thought his car was slower than my 8. He has a downpipe too.

I'm not too worried about my 8 beating anybody. My FD is for that... but, I always laugh when people run their mouths about an 8; but have never drove one or really raced one. They just re-gurgitate what they hear on sites like this.

Then you tell them you are considering getting an 8, your not sure, but you are certianly interested....
They tossed me the keys photocopied my license and told me to be back before 6:30 PM (I showed up around 12:30 1:00..) I had a full tank of gas and my own Rx-8 for the day! I think my FB would crush an 8, it just felt kinda pathetic for 250 hp...
I had my fun with it though, it came back lighter, in the gas tank, and in the tires... I would drive one for a daily under warrantee car, but I have heard so much about the lack of performance options. I hear the the engine is pretty much tuned for N/A about as good as it gets, and of course I have heard the stories about them not liking boost...
But being an N/A rotary guy myself, anybody thats driven one CANNOT say they arent fun, I had a blast in it.

If those D-bags had any sense they would have done it like me. Cruise into the dealer lot in your 7 and tell them everything about loving rotary powered cars.

What a jerk, I had already test driven and 8 at that exact dealership before when my family member was looking into those. It was Romero Mazda off the 15 and the 10 freeways in So Cal. I would never buy from them for that one incident. That guy made me look like a fool in front of my friend.

^A dealership in IL threw me keys and let me keep one for 24hrs. I was going to lease an '05 (but explained that I knew about the past a certain date in April, they could not lease the previous years model). They said it was no problem. I came back and then the idiotness started. They renigged on what they had said and I walked away. They called me for 2.5 weeks straight.
I ended up getting my '06 in MI, my story is around here somewhere. Basically, the GM was involved, gratuitous apologies, and 10 free oil changes. I guess it just depends on where you go. When I go to a dealership in the FD, they have nonthing but questions. Most have never seen one in person. First question I always get "Is that thing turbo'd??"

Wow, I gotta say you obviously dont know what your talking about... I am sorry that I mis-quoted your hp, obviously it makes me an idiot that i cant read the brochure as well as you can. And also, since I like sports cars it is kinda important that if I am going to purchase a new sports car, rotary or not. That it be faster than the sports car I already have, it is a selling point for me, not a game.
It is a rotary enthusiast forum, and I think I might know a little bit about rotaries having rebuilt two 12A's and one 13b at this point... All of them being N/A, like your "8" I think its pathetic that I can outrun an Rx-8 in a "mildly" modified 1981 Rx-7. If I am going to buy a new Rx, its gotta be more fun than the one I have already.
Your obviously an immature teenager whos parents bought you a brand new car and think that telling me how much better your car looks, and how many females you have in it is going to make me as butt hurt as you are now. In my honest opinion, a 1st gen looks about twice as good as an 8, I think they are too busy looking. But hey, you dont have to agree with that, because it an opinion.

A fricking Ford Escort with the right money would be faster then some of these cars so really who gives a damn about whos faster then who, its illegal on the streets anyways unless your going to the track!
