FD vs C5 Vette Rematch

C5 now has intake, removed mufflers, and ported TB. I have same mods, bad ignition breakup (still waiting on twin power to get here ). Enjoy

Cool... Looks pretty close to me if you remove the jump in the second race....

What power does your 7 make?

Wow, you'll beat that vette pretty hard once you get that twin power installed...

That was some closely-matched racing!

I liked the big flames on the final shift, then we see that the dotted white line is now a solid blur and the Chast White slowly pulls ahead...

Thanks for the vid!

That has to be a stock ported motor.

Now now, I listened very closely and they both punched it at exactly the same time from what I can tell. His exaust is so loud though that you can't even hear that LS1 screaming away, lol

If anything I think the FD punched it a bit late on the first race, and the 2nd was dead on but he was in a sweet spot perhaps. The FD is clearly the quicker of the 2 cars in this matchup.

Nice vid, thanks!

Nope, going to in a week or 2, been waiting on my twin power for about 2 months though from rx7store. I am on stock ports and the first run i started a little late and spun pretty bad. Second run I was brake boosting and got a nice jump.

hmm....interesting. My stock port motor that had a 6 and 5 compression with all bolt ons @ 13 psi smoked a C5 with intake and exhaust. I was running like that with a z06. You have an ecu running 15 psi...you should have worked him!
What do u run in the 1/4?

I dunno, it looks like that ignition breakup is really really bad. In the second run, look at the exhaust after the car pops a mini-flame on that shift. You can see flames licking out of the exhaust under WOT in the higher RPMs. That can make a serious difference in performance.

That is what I was thinking. I can hang with a stock c5 at stock boost!

u should have pulled him. i think you are down on power probably cause u need a tune.
i have the same mods as you and dont even bother lining up with basically stock vettes anymore....i walk them pretty good. Get a tune and you will too.

My best run in the 1/4 is a 12.6@112 with a 2.0 60', I've already been tuned up at Gotham, i'm running extremely rich 10:1 afr's. Hopefully the twin power clears it up when i run him again.

Nice vid! 10:1 AFR's seem exceptionally rich, I thought low 11:1 AFR's are optimum?

Are you sure it was 10:1 and not 11:1?
