fd rx-7 vs. porsche 996 gt2 ... vids.

took the car out on pump gas for some runs. rx-7 makes 470whp on pump. the gt2 is stock just has the x50 package which i believe gives it 470 flywheel hp. here are a few vids used the old school camera today so there no so clear. each time gt2 was given the jump. on the 2nd run he got a good 3 car jump.

Sweet, is there really an X50 package for the GT2? I know of the X50 for regular 996 turbo that brings many gt2 engine goodies to bump power but keeps standard 911TT aero and AWD.

i didnt think there was an x50 package for the gt2 myself i did some searching and found some info on them. i believe its just an intake upgrade. adds only 20 hp over stock.

edit. i just looked again the x50 upgrade is only on the turbos. the gt2 comes the way it is. says it makes 489 ps whatever that changes over into hp. i just posted up what i was told that it had an x50 on it. for what i just read all gt2's come with that x50. its an upgrade for the 911 turbos.

i wish i could come across some. only car around here right now that is close is an 9 sec 04 cobra. but he makes every excuse under the sun not to run me. he did go 9.7 at 139mph. i dont see what he is afraid of its going to be a close run plain and simple. i guess he cant take it if he ends up losing. i have been trying to get a race going against him for almost 2 year and he still has excuses. oh well im still have a blast with the car its running great and loving the meth and that billet turbo. going to turn up both pump and race gas setups for next year with more meth.

I always liked your vids. Nice runs, your car is a f'n beast. And about the terminator guy... wth is his deal? I never understood the whole ego thing... win or lose who cares... it's always fun to try running regardless of the outcome Keep up the good work, and make sure you use the other camera next time, this one is s POS

EDIT.. oh, were both of you guys brake boosting? I couldn't really tell if the gt2 was or not. sounds like you were.
