FD killed WRX

So Im standing waiting on the school parking lot to clear out and here is a 21 year old with his new WRX revving his engine, popping his bov trying to act cool among high school kids. Then pulls up and keeps reving it right in front of me. I tell my friends "What a badass!?". In my mind I would really love to shut him and his car up but am not the kind of guy to go up and try to be the arrogant one and ask for a race. So as I walk out to my car he gets one of his friend to ask me if i wanted to race. I politely said "ya sure". So since every person in the school knows about me and my car, word spreads withing a minute that I am about to race (This was my first planned race after school that people could witness). We head out to the local spot and gather at a near gas station. We check cars. He is pretty much stock and I have a few parts listed in my sig but still at stock 10psi boost. Everything was against me. No duct on my smic, a safe tune, and hot *** Texas weather. So we discussed how the race will be. Since I had a few mods and I was very confident in my car I let us start from a dig. Let me remind you his car is AWD. So we head to our local backroad to race and there are about 30 people wanting to see me whoop some ***!!

I ask if anyone wants to ride with me? Kinda being arrogant implying that I can still win with another 200lbs in my car. So one of my friends hops in.

We line up, I let him get the do the honking countdown. We rev and there's the last honk. I am in 1st gear and stationary because my wheels wont stop spinning (my friend who was behind us said they were smoking for a while {i have new yoko's on}). Here I am burning out for about 2 seconds, and there he goes in his AWD. Finally I get going and shift to 2nd. I am still losing traction. 2nd finally catches and shift at redline. At this point I am about 1 1/2 car lengths behind. Shift to 3rd. The games on!!! I easily suck him up and pass at 3rd and a car length ahead at about 103mph. I miss 4th and hear myself say "****!" while approaching the finish. I get into 4th and reach 130mph and have about 4 lenghts on him.

I take a victory and cool down distance and return to where everyone is. Getting mucho props and many smiles. Bad news is my clutch is pretty fried and I wish we would have gone from at least a 20mph roll. But hey I reped rx-7 owners.

Let me remind you that I don't race much. I know I am in high school but have seen everything the 7 can throw at you. I can handle the car. I don't plan on doing this to much so don't flame on the irresponsibility factor. People have talked about this dude so much and now I finally proved my point.

good job beating a stock wrx, that kid is "deutch bag" yea got a beerfest line in! you should be putting down about 25-30 hp to the wheels than what he has to the fly (230). plus your 400lbs lighter oh excuse me 200 lbs lighter with your friend in the car. start racing sti's now.

I knew I had more power. Which is why I let us start from a dig. If I ever find a Sti that wants to I will.

Man, how is a kid in high school lucky enough to have an FD? I'm 17 & was on top of the world when I got my 1st gen a few months ago. Nice kill theres an evo around here that I don't think anyone has beat yet, maybe one of you guys can do a little roadtrip here and put him in his place.

Same here i got my 10AE in high school last year and the only ppl who gave me any credit were those who knew anything about the car even tho it was prolly the top 5 fastest in the school. Alot of ppl were surprised when i said i had an rx7 and they saw the FC instead of an FD cuz thats all they kno from F&F. They would be like "i thought you said you had an Rx7? On the other hand, when i had my prelude before i wrecked it, EVERYONE knew about my car and jocked it even tho it was considerably slower than my Rx7. Anywho, race this ****** again and get it on video i wanna see some ownage!

Unless he installed a rocket on his wrx why are you racing again? Find a faster car to go against, the wrx really isnt worth your time.

If you insist on racing again, shift from 2nd to 5th that will make it a good race

....you said the hot texas weather was against you.

I'm in Waco for school (Baylor) and keep a house in Houston, where do you live? I'm always into meeting FD drivers in my area, plus you know... if you need a little humilty from somone in there early 20's, we may have to work somthing out.

good kill anyway though, feels good doesnt it?

im in high school...when i race i only race for money cuz mor than likely its gonna cost me in the future for the clutch and the gas and, i always try to beat the guy by a few inches so they think they can run me again for more money then i beat them by another few inches...its better to inch the out of their money
